Electrolux Defrost Thermostat, Sensor

• Freezer not defrosting
• Too warm
• Fridge too warm
• Freezer section too warm

I ordered a freezer temperature control. I ordered from you because parts are certified. Last thing I wanted was to go through the replacement process with a part that didn’t work. • Doesn't shut off
• Fridge runs too long
• Freezer not defrosting

Fixed it by replacing the electronic control board. Only 30 min. to fix. (See further down for effort to diagnose the problem.) Most of this "fixing time" was spent removing the control panel to access the control board that is attached to it. My freezer has the control panel located in the top center of the door. Walk into the kitchen on 21 Sep. Eight year old Frigidaire refrigerator appears to be short cycling, controls are nonfunctional. Unplug it for a few minutes, plug it back in, appears to return to normal function. Return to kitchen half hour 45 minutes later it's short cycling again. Panel has codes on it (S or 5 E CE, later that changes to S or 5 Y CE). Research of codes says replace main board and control board. Not sure where this main board is. 22 Sep call appliance repair. Checked compressor windings - ok. Start relay looked no rattle or burning. Start capacitor seamed ok but hard to check. No 120VC to start relay at any time. Ordered thermistor, and electronic control unit. Figuring it was a bad thermistor not telling the ECU it was warm and to turn on the compressor. Or the ECU was damaged and was not sending the 120v to the compressor. Changed the thermistor first (cheapest part and as Appliance parts pros has a return policy I wanted to start there). ... Replaced the Thernistor and resolved the problem. Took less than 15 mins to do if you follow the instructions that they have on this site. Great video! Thanks Read more

Got the infamous icemaker freezing up problem so common to Frigidaire Gallery and Professional series refrigerators. I was also only getting the "OP" code on the diagnostic test 26, so I determined the defrost heater and/or the thermostat was probably bad.
