Defroster in freezer not functioning causing the freezer to frost up and the fridge to not cool appropriately Eddie R. • Debary , FL • January 06, 2015
I unplugged the fridge and took all the food and shelving out of the freezer and then proceeded to take off the bottom sliding drawer rack on both sides off (4 Phillips head screws). Then took off the light bulb cover and then the light bulb. Then the back wall that covers the coils and tubes that the refrigerant runs through ( 2 screws with hex head). After sliding out the back wall I could see that the entire coil area was frosted and iced up. I took a blow dryer and melted all of it over...

My refrigerator items were freezing Mayilet F. • Hialeah , FL • February 24, 2020
I ordered a freezer temperature control. I ordered from you because parts are certified. Last thing I wanted was to go through the replacement process with a part that didn’t work. I’m not a handy person by nature, and I have zero common sense. I watched the awesome instructional video that you provided with my order several times. Before receiving or even opening the package, I felt that I knew what to expect because I watched the video so many times. Before beginning, I made sure I had as...

Fridge side wasn't staying cold massive ice build up in freezer ice blockage in fan duct Christopher M. • Yorba Linda , CA • December 15, 2014
Condenser was encased in solid block of ice due to automatic defrost not working. Replaced thermostat and ADC control board. Working fine now. Most tedious part was using a heat gun to melt all the ice off the condenser coils.
You will need a couple small wire nuts to splice the new thermostat into the existing harness (they are not included).
Service tech wanted over $400 to repair, fixed it myself for half that. Thanks !

Upright frost free freezer would not keep food frozen (Frigidaire name plate but made by (Electrolux) testing determined the refrigeration system worked but it would not defrost. Kenton K. • Chanhassen , MN • May 31, 2020
Fixed it by replacing the electronic control board. Only 30 min. to fix. (See further down for effort to diagnose the problem.) Most of this "fixing time" was spent removing the control panel to access the control board that is attached to it. My freezer has the control panel located in the top center of the door. The only way to remove the control panel is to pry the panel out of the door using a thin-bladed putty knife. The instructions provided were very good in explaining the process;...

Temperature read on display was higher than it really was inside the frigerator and it froze the food inside the frigerator it constantly ran because the temp sensor broke Daniel H. • Oakley , CA • November 05, 2016
Poped off plastics caseing inside the frigerator. Unscrewed 4 screws holding black fan inplace. Followed yellow wire to locate white sensor. Need to be careful not to break styrofoam, don't force it, it should seporate from plastic easy as long as the 4 screws are out. Swap it for the new one and button it back up. While I was in there I replaced the defrost sensor and the other sensor next to the heating rod. Also I know there is an issue with drain hole plugging up with ice so I extended the...

This was for a friend of mine his refrigerator stopped cooling Gary G. • Ofallon , MO • July 12, 2015
This was a 2000 model so rather than just replace the defrost timer which was visibly burnt on the terminals, we just did everything. The cold control, defrost timer, thermostat, defrost heater and the compressor capacitor were all replaced. I had the same issue on my older unit and tore it apart replacing one item at a time over a three month period so on an older one i suggest do it all while it is apart.

Amana model afd2535deb freezer cold fridge too warm not defrosting Dan R. • Woodruff , SC • November 09, 2015
Toughest part of this repair is figuring out how to get things apart. Amana doesn't provide you a repair manual showing how to disengage the various plastic covers. Initially disassembled the bottom freezer compartment so I could get to the evaporator coils; they were completely frozen in block of ice, restricting air flow to the fridge above. Obviously, the auto defrost cycle had not been running, or was short-cycling. Manually defrosted. Found this link for running diagnostic tests on the...

Frost buildup. Food not completely frozen. Running continuously and refrigerator too warm Robert K. • Louisville , KY • February 07, 2021
By reading stories of other customers who had bought this part, the first thing I looked for when troubleshooting my near-18 year old Frigidaire was for the top to be erupted or raised up on the bimetal defrost. It was truly a case of “look for the simple explanation first.” Once I determined that the bimetal defrost appeared to be the culprit, I ordered the part from Appliance Parts Pros. The back panel (evaporator cover) on my freezer was totally encrusted with ice. So I'm waiting for this to...

Defrost Thermostat, Sensor replacement parts are pivotal in ensuring your refrigerator or freezer remains in top-notch condition. Think about how essential it is for your ice cream to stay frozen or your vegetables to stay fresh – that's where these parts come into play. They help regulate the appliance's defrost cycle, preventing ice build-up which can affect overall performance.
When it comes to defrost thermostat parts, these components detect the temperature of your refrigerator's evaporator coils. If the coils get too cold, this sensor signals the defrost system to kick in, melting away accumulated frost. Keeping these parts in good working order is crucial for maintaining efficient cooling and avoiding the hassle of manual defrosting.
Opting for OEM replacement parts is always a wise choice. These original parts are designed to fit and function perfectly with your appliance model, ensuring you won't run into compatibility issues. By using high-quality defrost thermostat sensors, you can trust that your appliance will continue to perform at its best, helping extend its lifespan and maintain food preservation.
Rest assured, finding reliable and high-quality defrost thermostat replacement parts is straightforward. With the right parts, your refrigerator or freezer can keep running smoothly, allowing you to enjoy peace of mind knowing your food is always stored at the ideal temperature.
