Freezer Parts

Once I purchased the correct motor it literally took less that 10 minutes from start to finish to replace the motor. After unplugging the refrigerator, I unscrewed two machine screws to remove the cover and unscrewed two machine screws to remove the motor. I removed the old motor from the housing, installed the new motor, reattached the motor to the refrigerator, replaced the cover, and plugged in the refrigerator. Installation was quick and simple. I tested the fan outside of the freezer with an adapted direct plug-in cord and it ran fine. I tested the controller tsd it was within the good range along with the run capacitor and it tested good as well. I then tested the compressor resistance, it tested good, although the compressor could have been mechanically bad, it wasn't and I don't know of a way to test for it. Gasket and liner arrived as planned. Clips were a day later. Used "hog ring" pliers to remove the clips, worked great. Pre-punched holes in the gasket did not match the original but the plastic liner did. Used an ice pick to punch the gasket and inserted the clips. This is a chest freezer, so install the hinge side first. Read more

Loosened the top half screws, pulled the old seal out, put new seal in, snugged top screws, repeated process for the bottom. Went well, no problems. Read more

Purchased a new starter and compressor run capacitor. Unplugged appliance from wall outlet. removed clip that holds these item in place. unplugged starter from compressor and from electrical wiring. plugged capacitor into starter, then plugged the electrical connection into assembly. Had a friend who is an appliance repair tech. Replace the evaporator, the heater coil, and the filter/drier. Parts were soldered together and the compressor was put under vacuum. Then, charged with 5 oz. of refrigerant. The freezer works great now! Read more
