Upper felt seal creates a tight barrier between drum and cabinet to prevent clothes from catching in gaps. Replace if fabric snags or grinding noises occur.
My 12 year old Frigidaire stack on top dryer had been beeping distress messages in some unintelligible code for about a year when it completely stopped producing heat. It also had a long standing issue with delicate fabrics and thin straps or drawstrings getting caught in the drum. After using this site to troubleshoot and viewing the useful how-to videos, I ordered and replaced the heating element, thermal limiter, and felt seals. Based on others' stories, I decided to also replace the rear... Read more
This assembly includes the blower wheel and its surrounding housing, which work together to circulate heated air through the dryer drum and push moist air out through the exhaust vent. It is a critical component of the dryer's airflow system. Replace this assembly if the dryer is making loud squealing or thumping noises, clothes are taking too long to dry, or if the blower wheel or housing is cracked or damaged.
Replaced unit. Read more
Dryer won't heat or shows E66 error? The thermal limiter prevents overheating by monitoring airflow. Moderate DIY repair, requires rear panel access.
I actually found a post from another brave soul who was willing to try to fix his, and had stated when he put the new limiter switch in, it fixed the problem. Since the whole back of the dryer needs to come off to get to the burner, and the limiter switch is inexpensive it seemed like common sense to take this approach first. After all, you don't put a new engine in your car if all it needs is a new battery! I also found posts that an overheating event could fry the main control board, and... Read more
This moisture sensor consists of two metal strips typically mounted inside the dryer drum area that detect the moisture level in clothing during a drying cycle. It signals the control board to end the cycle when clothes reach the desired dryness. Replace this sensor if your dryer shuts off too early with clothes still damp, runs too long, or if the auto-dry cycle no longer functions properly.
Simple unscrewed the set screw, removed the broken sensor-moisture part, attached the leads, and reattached the part to the back of the dryer. Took about 4 minutes. Read more

Dryer door won't stay closed? The door strike secures the door latch during operation. Quick DIY fix—installs from the front in minutes.
My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. The door catch was in perfect condition so I didn't need to use the one I ordered. So then I proceeded to install the new door strike. That took me about 15 minutes because I did not have the manual strength to... Read more
The High Temp Lubricant Tube is an OEM part for Frigidaire appliances, specifically designed to withstand and operate under high temperature conditions. This lubricant is essential for the proper maintenance and functionality of various Frigidaire appliances, offering protection against heat and friction.
Over time, the lubricant can degrade or become contaminated, which can compromise its effectiveness. Causes of a bad high temp lubricant include exposure to extreme temperatures, accumulation of dirt and debris, or simply the natural breakdown of the lubricant over prolonged use.
Symptoms of needing a new High Temp Lubricant Tube include:
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.
Replaced the rear drum bearing assembly and the front top felt that the drum rides on and since I has it apart installed a new belt. Simple to do and takes very little time! Read more
This metal bracket supports the drum bearing at the rear of the dryer, helping to hold the drum in proper alignment as it rotates. It provides a stable mounting point for the bearing assembly that the drum rides on. Replace this bracket if the dryer makes squealing, grinding, or thumping noises during operation, or if the drum wobbles and does not spin smoothly.
I watched the helpful diy video. It gave me what the problem was and the confidence to do it. Took my dryer apart with the helpful hints in the video repair went smooth. Works like a dream and I saved money. Thank you appliance parts pros. Read more
The Door Switch is an OEM part for Frigidaire dryers. This part ensures that the dryer operates safely by only allowing the machine to run when the door is completely closed. Positioned typically at the door frame, the switch activates when the door is shut, signaling the control system that it's safe to begin the cycle.
Over time, door switches can wear out or become damaged, which can interfere with the normal operation of the dryer.
Symptoms of a faulty Door Switch include:
By reading the forums I first thought it may be the thermostat. I bypassed the thermostat wiring and the dryer still turned off after a few second of running. The second check was for the door switch. I couldn't find an explanation of how to bypass, so I just ordered a new one to try. It worked. Read more
Replace your dryer's control panel knob if it's cracked, broken, or missing. This knob installs on the control panel for cycle and setting selection.
Ordered the part, received it in a couple of days and whammo, everything is fine. So easy. Read more
This is the main electronic control board for the dryer, sold without the outer housing. It manages dryer functions including cycle selection, temperature regulation, and timing. Replace this board if the dryer won't start, stops mid-cycle, displays error codes, or if the controls are unresponsive - note that the existing housing from your old board will need to be reused.
Replaced the Control Board. (Originally purchased a remanufactured one from another website, it worked for 5 loads of clothes and the error came back!) One from AppliancePartsPros.com has been working perfectly! Read more
This high limit thermostat is a safety device that monitors the temperature inside the dryer and cuts power to the heating element if the temperature exceeds a safe threshold. It is typically mounted on the heating element housing or exhaust duct. Replace this thermostat if the dryer is not heating at all or if it overheats - a tripped high limit thermostat often indicates a clogged vent or restricted airflow that should also be addressed.
My Electrolux Frigidaire Gas Dryer stopped working and I got an error code E66 that the thermal limiter blew from over heating. The E66 code stops displaying after the initial code and you will then get a door open message. I replaced the thermal limiter and the thermostat just to be sure which part at the problem. The job is hard because you have to take apart the entire dryer and remove the drum. Would be a tough project to complete on your own. Read more
Replacement drum support roller wheel assembly for dryers. Installs on bulkhead to support and guide drum rotation. Replace when worn, cracked, or loose.
I encountered a high pitched squeal and loud rumbling. I figured the sounds were likely the rollers despite not matching other sounds on the repair videos for other dryers. The repair video for dryer rollers on AppliancePartsPros.com is of little use until Minute 2:56 because this Electrolux 517 model uses mostly Phillips head screw to fasten the front and top panels in place. You may find one latch at the top front center that holds the top and front panels in place. After unplugging the... Read more
Replacement air duct assembly with mesh screen for dryers. Installs between drum and heater. Replace if screen is burnt, cracked, melted, or missing.
It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. I want to tell you this is a 2 person job. In order to assemble it you need to... Read more
