The screen can crack or internal parts of the control board can become damaged. This can cause the refrigerator to stop cooling or running entirely.If the control board is damaged or not working correctly, it should be replaced. First, access the back of the appliance and unplug it from the wall. Remove the screws that hold on the cover to work with the control board. Make notes about where the wires are connected before removing the board. The new replacement part should have the wires reconnected in the same locations. Replace the cover and turn the power back on.The control board is compatible with several refrigerators made by Frigidaire. It is sold on an individual basis and sourced directly from the manufacturer. This is a genuine OEM replacement component.
Purchased a new Control Board, as well as a new Thermister. Thermister was not absolutely necessary and could have been tested but it was simple enough to just replace during the control board replacement. Since it was a good time to replace the carbon air filter, I included that in the order too. Ordering the parts was very easy and completing the order the same.
