The Switch Gas Valve is an OEM part for GE ranges. It is responsible for controlling the flow of gas to the burners, allowing them to ignite and maintain a steady flame for cooking.
Causes of a bad switch gas valve can include wear and tear over time, buildup of debris or grease, or damage from repeated use or accidental impact. These issues can hinder the valve's ability to regulate gas flow effectively.
Symptoms of a bad switch gas valve include:
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.
Bought this switch gas valve for the non-functional burner, and it cleared right up. Read more
This is the surface burner igniter switch that mounts on the valve stem and closes the circuit to spark the burners when you turn the knob. Replacing a faulty switch restores consistent, reliable ignition on your gas cooktop or range.
Ordered an igniter switch for $21.95. (the left front handle was turned the wrong although clearly marked: Off, Lite, X-high, high, med, low, simmer. Guess some folks cannot read and deduce.) When we returned from out of town to relieve the sitting family members I noticed the left front burner handle was sitting at 11 o'clock instead of true OFF at 12, straight up and down. When I would correct the position the ignitor would begin until I once again would back it up until the light would go... Read more
This switch mounts on the surface burner gas valve stem and closes the circuit to the spark igniters when you turn the knob. Replace a worn switch to restore reliable ignition and eliminate nuisance or no-click conditions.
Turned out the little switches on the knob shaft had corroded and were staying on. There was constant continuity showing with an ohm meter. Replacing the switches was very easy (always disconnect power to the unit before servicing). Bought a new ignitor module as a backup as they do go out of production after 10 years or so- another cheap and easy fix if needed in the future. Read more
This switch harness assembly links the cooktop burner knob switches to the ignition circuit so the burners spark when you turn a knob. Replacing a damaged harness restores consistent lighting and can stop intermittent or continuous clicking during use.
Refer to Mynor T. of Draper, UT Aug. 12, 2018 write-up. I benefited greatly from the above write-up. It took me a little less time to perform this repair (excluding cleaning the assembly) due to the write-up. This GE Profile gas burner cook top is a “drop-in” model meant to be installed into counter top cut outs. The glass top edges are the actual support area for the entire cook top assembly. The burner bases (on top of the glass top) are screwed to the metal case enclosure (located beneath... Read more
The Switch/Wire Harness is an OEM part for GE gas cooktops featuring digital controls. It relays input signals between interactive panels and control modules.
Causes of failure involve physical stress cracks from repeated flexing, pinched wiring compromising conductivity, and insulation degradation over extended use.
Symptoms of a faulty harness include:
This OEM part is also compatible with Hotpoint and RCA gas cooktop models.
I replace the switch harness. You will need a star driver for the burner screws, and a 1/4" socket for the LED array cover. Remove and re-install new harness. Problem solved. Read more
This ignition switch controls the spark to your gas burner or oven igniter so burners light reliably when you turn the control. Replacing a faulty switch can restore consistent ignition and safe operation. What it does:
Replaced ignition switches. Perfect fit &easy repair. It’s nice knowing your getting the correct part. Read more
This burner box wiring harness connects the cooktop/oven burner components to the appliance's control systems, restoring reliable ignition and power routing for the burner box area. Use to replace a damaged or burnt harness for safer operation. What it does
This spark switch/simmer burner is the electrical switch that sends spark to a gas cooktop burner, restoring reliable ignition and simmer control for compatible ranges. Replaces a worn or unresponsive burner spark switch. What it does:
Usually ships within 4 - 14 days
After an exhaustive Internet search, I found someone who had taken apart my model cooktop and referred to his pictures. I had also found similar models where the downdraft went on inappropriately. That fix was easy, just finding the control switch and ensuring good contact with the burner apparatus. After that I took off the burner knobs and pried up the control panel with a small straight slot screwdriver. My spark igniters were 4 discreet pieces rather than a complete harness, with the left... This surface burner valve switch mounts on the gas valve stem and signals the spark module when you turn the knob. Replacing a faulty switch restores consistent clicking and reliable ignition on the affected cooktop burner. What it does:
Removed knobs ,burners, grates,etc.. Removed glass top. Removed wire harness switch. Wrote down location and sequence of removals. Reassembled same, and tried burners. All worked fine with no clicking when turned off. Be careful with glass top removal, use a thin putty knife to separate top from gasket seal. Seal must be in place before re positioning top. Reassemble in same sequence as removal. Read more
