Visually inspected bottom heating element and found that it had failed. There was a @2" gap of missing element and burned debris below the damaged area. This was discovered 3 days before Christmas. 1. Open under oven storage drawer and look on the left inside frame frame for Model ID and Serial No. 2. It took a few of us. One to vacuum up the fire extinguisher residue. One to trip the breaker. One to provide light. One to clean out under the stove while it was pulled out. The Oven in our house is for sure over 20 yrs old it was in this home when we bought it, the home is 33 yrs old & the Oven is a Wall Oven, there is not room for a standard Oven in this Kitchen. Took out old element,got part number and look for the cheapest price online, Appliance Parts Pro could not be beat... order part be number, easy to match, came in fast and put in element, only needed a 5/16 nutdriver to take it out and put it in,unpluged wires and bent just a little to keep one on left and one right from getting mixed up and pluged up new element and ran in the 2 screws,easy job, dont get no easier.. I wanted to get the upper oven baking element replaced; it hasn't been working for a few months. This double oven has had two other issues, there is a fan that comes on to cool the electronics panel, That fan has made excessive noise and it operates for 2-3 hours after the oven turns off. The other problem with the oven is the Self-Cleaning feature runs for about 15-30 minutes and then turns off with an error code. Easy fix. Both elements replaced while I was at it, so all new. Figured if one went the other was going to follow. CIRCUIT BREAKER OFF. Removed the back metal panel with my nut driver for the hex head screws. Note where the panel may slip under tabs for support. Remove slip on electrical connections on upper and lower elements. May need a pliers. (I did not want to just pull the element and the wires into the oven with the element and remove them there, like a technician would do. After 15... Read more

Once I received the element within three days, I simply removed the other element by unclipping and unplugging lugs in rear. Placed the new one in clips and connected lugs and all was good! Read more

Replaced element. The new element was perfect. The shipping was perfect. Installation would have taken less than 10 minutes if the two range wires attaching to element had been 1 inch longer. Attached thin nosed vice grips to wires at spade terminals to facilitate attachment to element. The repair was simple enough but it would have been perfect if GE engineers had made wires 1 inch longer. Read more

Checking for part replacement.....found your website.....I thought I had the right part, but called the tech/order line. Spoke to a very knowledgable tech, which she checked the stove serial # vs the part I thought I could use. The Tech advised that it WAS NOT and related the findings. With the help of Wendee and Karen, we finally figured out my model numbers and which parts where correct. I ordered the parts and all arrived the next day except for the Broiler element which arrived in 2 days. I installed the new Baking Element myself. Took longer to figure out which curcuit braker to turn off. In about 30 minutes I had a brand new Baking Element in my oven working perfectly. On the following day, I installed the Broiler Element.
