This radiant bridge element links two adjacent surface elements on a smooth-top cooktop to create one continuous heating zone for griddles or large pans. Replace it to restore even, reliable heat when the bridge feature stops working.
- Bridges two radiant elements to form a single, continuous heating area for oversize cookware
- Restores proper heat output when the original bridge element is open, damaged, or shorted
- Common symptoms: bridge zone won't heat, heats unevenly across the center, or cycles off immediately
- Intended for radiant glass-ceramic cooktops/ranges equipped with a bridge feature
What's included: One radiant bridge element. Install notes:
- Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the cooktop to cool completely before servicing
- Lift the glass top to access the elements; note wire locations and take a reference photo before moving anything
- Handle the element carefully to avoid damaging the heating ribbon and insulation
- Ensure the element sits level and clear of the glass before reassembly, then restore power and test
