The oven was so loud, it was hard to talk to someone in the kitchen. We replaced the motor and the fan blade. 1. Turn off power to the oven. 2. Remove the oven doors 3. Remove the cover for the fan. 4. Turn the fan blade nut clockwise to loosen( it's opposite of normal) - Save the nut and the small clip that is behind the fan as you'll need them again. 5. I lifted up the door and removed it. Next, I laid out newspaper on the floor. I placed the door on the newspaper upside down. With my socket driver, I removed the bottom door trim. I then used a pocket knife to remove the remaining glass in the top groove. I then slid in the new glass and reinstalled the trim. I examined the inner burner heads and determined that two of the most frequently used burners were warped and were not making good contact with the burner base. It's a GE Profile series stove about 10 -12 years old. Worst part of job was sliding stove out from wall. Remove 4 small screws from shield on top of stove, disconnect two connectors from switch rocker, push lock tabs inward so you can push switch rocker outward from back toward burners threw frame of stove, insert new unit until click locks, reconnect wires, and reinsert shield back on top stove and secure with 4 screws removed earlier. I bought the replacement knobs from Appliance Parts Pros.com and they were much better knobs that what originally came with the unit. They are actually metal and the plastic posts that connect with the range are a much higher grade plastic. To be honest I think the stove works better than it did when it was new. Some of the original knobs may have been broken when we purchased the unit. Replacement took under 5 minutes for all of the knob. Oh....and by the way....they appear to be the same... Read more

First swapped other working burner and the problem moved. This verified that the problem was with the burner element and not something else. I order the part from ApplianceParts. The new burner connector looked different than the old one but the new one fit fine. The time to fix was less than five minutes and required no tools. Read more

Disconnected ( already tripped) breaker in the panel. Lifted cooked top unscrewed the glass top and set aside. I took the picture of the wires connected to the control on my ipad and replaced broken control. reconnected the wires as per picture. Cleaned the greased glass top and replaced the infinite switch seal for the broken control. Then reinstall glass top back on the cooktop and put the cooktop back in in place. Very easy fix. Turned of power at breaker. Removed oven door by lowering two "keepers" on the hinges for the oven door and sliding the door out of the oven. Removed the trim plate at bottom of oven by pushing it up.. Removed 2 screws that mount to the frame of the cabinet at the bottom that the trim plate hangs from. Then removed 4 screws that hold the oven into the cabinet at either side of the oven. Put two 5 gallon buckets in front of the oven and slid the oven out onto the side-by-side... Read more

A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power,disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. ...
