General Electric Range Parts

I bought the replacement knobs from Appliance Parts Pros.com and they were much better knobs that what originally came with the unit. They are actually metal and the plastic posts that connect with the range are a much higher grade plastic. To be honest I think the stove works better than it did when it was new. Some of the original knobs may have been broken when we purchased the unit. Replacement took under 5 minutes for all of the knob. Oh....and by the way....they appear to be the same... Read more

I discovered the oven thermocouple was broken and burned off at the end. This prevented the oven pilot to remain lit after releasing the oven control knob. I ordered a new thermocouple which was part of the oven burner assembly. The oven now works just fine. Read more

Disconnected ( already tripped) breaker in the panel. Lifted cooked top unscrewed the glass top and set aside. I took the picture of the wires connected to the control on my ipad and replaced broken control. reconnected the wires as per picture. Cleaned the greased glass top and replaced the infinite switch seal for the broken control. Then reinstall glass top back on the cooktop and put the cooktop back in in place. A very common problem with the GE oven is the dreaded F7 error code. I purchased the control board as well as the keypad and replaced both. The error code could have been either part but since I saw a lot of grease, I chose to change out both even though I isolated the problem to the keypad only. By resetting the error first by hitting the clock button on the keypad, turning off the power,disconnecting the keypad, then turning back on the power if the code doesn't come back it's the keypad. ... Once I watched the video on your site about gas line install, it became apparent why the line bent when I raised the lid.. also discovered those two rods have nest to go into and the lid/top now sets down tight as designed ( and as an added bonus, gas smell disappeared during oven use) I ordered the gas lines with the model number, ordered all four …. it was a bit of a chore one came up when site opened I picked it, but did not know if it was the RH or LH etc.. so reading some of your answers... Ordered a new Oven Control unit and an Overlay (ours was punctured in a few places -- old and brittle). Opened the stovetop and removed some screws from the front control panel area. Followed the advice from Appliance Parts Pros' video to take a photo of the locations of all the connections on the old panel before removal -- that was an instrumental step to the success of this project! My 1984 GE Electric Stove model number was very close to an another entry, but not actually in appliance repair pros' model numbers list.
