I replaced the water level switch and hose. After removing the hose, I found that it was clogged, and did not allow the water level to be sensed by the switch. I replaced the water inlet valve. Apparently, the hard water in my house slowly deposits crud around the valves such at over time, the valve seals quit forming a tight seal when closing. This allows water to slowly leak through, even with the machine off. I removed the top of the washer, disconnected hoses and wires and replaced the valve in fairly short order.
