• Gas igniter glows, but will not light

Everything works great, but my Jenn-Air stove is more than 15 years old and really needed a face lift. To replace it will cost about $3000.00 to replace, to replace missing and old parts around $500.00. The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. One difficulty was that the threaded base plate where the legs screwed in had been damaged and had to be reshaped, I was able to reshape the sockets with some effort, to allow the legs to thread in, though one remained slightly angled. The burner lit when I used a lighter so figured it was electrical. There were only 2 electrical components so I first tried replacing the block terminal. This did it, very simple and saved $250 on a whole new unit. Read more

In an attempt to clean the range from the grease-gunk build-up, I had to remove the burner heads. Unfortunately, the 2 most used burner heads had immovable screws that locked them into the orifices underneath. I ordered a replacement burner from AppliancePartsPros.com and replaced it using a u-tube video to find out how to do it. I took pictures of the wiring before I took it apart and then removed the burner element from the glass tom, but I left all the wires attached. I screwed the new element to the glass top and then one by one I unhooked each wire from the broken element and then hooked them each back onto the corresponding place on the new element.
