Converting dryer from LP to natural gas? This gas orifice regulates gas flow to the burner for proper heating. DIY-friendly swap, takes 20 minutes.
Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... Burner won't light or flame is weak? This gas valve controls flow to your range surface burner for reliable ignition and heat control. Moderate DIY.
Replaced the old valve with a new one from AppliancePartsPros.com. I watched one of the YouTube videos to get an idea of what the process would entail. I gathered the tools I would require, plus a work light. The repair/replacement went pretty good. One thing the video I watched didn't cover was adjusting the valve for a propane system. I compared my old valve to the new one and saw that I would have to screw down the oven gas outlet until it "bottomed out". Read more

This genuine OEM replacement part is a burner and gas valve assembly for dryers. The burner and gas valve assembly is a complete assembly that contains the burner that distributes the gas in a way that creates an even flame allowing for heat to be distributed properly to perform the dryer's essential function. If the dryer is no longer drying clothes effectively or heating properly, then it might be time for it to be replaced. Luckily repairing a gas valve assembly is a relatively simple job.To replace the burner and gas valve assembly, begin by shutting off power to the appliance. Next, pull the dryer away from the wall to gain access to the back panel. Remove the back panel and locate the burner and gas valve assembly. Remove the mounting screws that hold it in place. After removing the screws use both hands to pull and release the old burner assembly. Set it off to the side and proceed to install the new one by refastening the screws that hold it in place. This replacement part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand washers.
Unfortunately my first repair attempt (replacing the Gas Valve Coils) failed so I decided to replace the entire Burner assembly. From a cost/time point of view the Burner assembly is a better value than just buying the Gas Valve seeing as you don't have to disassemble/reassemble most of the existing Burner (to get to the Gas Valve) *and* you get a new Igniter!! The most annoying thing about the repair is accessing the screw that clamps the gas pipe to loosen it :-(... Read more
If your dryer won't heat or flame won't stay lit, a corroded burner tube may be the cause. This assembly includes an adjustable air shutter for proper combustion.
I removed the kick panel/door and confirmed there was no flame. Inspection with a flashlight revealed the igniter was damage - partly broken away. Using a 1/4" socket set I removed the burner assembly. Inspection showed the burner was rusted and the flame deflector had fallen off. I ordered both the "Dryer Igniter and Bracket" and a burner. They arrived in about three days. I had to attach the igniter to the bracket (one screw) and then the bracket to the burner (one screw). The only... Read more
Converting your dryer from natural gas to propane? This LP conversion kit includes calibrated orifices for proper fuel flow. DIY-friendly install.
Removing cabinet panels to access burner was the major challenge since every one seems to be different. This one, two screws at back allowed top to raise and be removed, Two more screws at front and two cables disconnected removed control panel. The door panel was not quite as obvious, The two screws at top sides and two at very bottom edge were removed. Then by trial, I removed screws around door edge until panel was loose. I removed a couple extra; but the whole door and panel lifted off.... Read more
Burner cap sits on top of the gas burner assembly to distribute flame evenly. Replace if cracked, chipped, discolored, or missing for proper cooking.
I thought it was the burners and ordered four burners. When they arrived I thought three of them were wrong parts so I ordered three others and scheduled a return of three I had just received. I then realized it was not the burner but the diffuser plated on top of the burners. I cancelled the new order, arranged a return of the four initial burners and ordered four diffuser plated. The representatives were extremely helpful; and understanding. I was amazed adn happy that there was no... Read more
