Fix leaking from the bottom of your dishwasher by replacing the diverter motor. Controls water flow to spray arms. Moderate DIY repair with video guide.
Removed and replaced diverter motor. Ops check good, no more leaking. I'm guessing the seal was the problem but diverter ruined (water residue) from leaking over the last 5 years??? This seal is only available if you buy the tub so followed another review - removed diverter then gently pried out the seal, cleaned and then lubed with silicone grease. Also turned the seal 180 degrees or the opposite way before reinstalling the diverter and then wrapping it all back under the counter. Read more
Dishwasher leaking from the bottom? A cracked or worn inlet sump causes water leaks during wash cycles. Moderately difficult repair with video guidance.
Replaced with a new Inlet Sump [WD18X213]. It was a little tedious, attaching the Inlet Sump, back to the pump, because I did the job with the dishwasher in place (not pulled out). My dishwasher was plumbed with copper pipe, so I really didn't want to upset that. Also, I had previously replaced the motor and the pump in this dishwasher, so I was familiar with how the Inlet Sump attached to the pump. Again, it's very tight working under the unit while it is still in place, and I wouldn't... Read more

Dishwasher not cleaning dishes or water won't circulate? This circulation pump and motor forces water through the spray arms during wash cycles.
Fix loud whining or grinding noises during wash cycles with this dishwasher circulation pump motor. DIY-friendly repair, typically 10-15 minutes.
I started looking at new dishwashers and was quickly disheartened with the cost of these simple machines. There's really not much to them and yet they're so much money for what they do. I popped off the pump and took a look at it and cleared some "gunk" and hair out but it didn't fix the issue. Jumped on AppliandPartsPros.com and ordered the pump on a Friday night and had the part in hand Tuesday night after work. Took about 10 minutes total (dishwasher out and back installed, literally in... Read more
Fix dishes not getting clean or spray arms not spinning. This dishwasher circulation pump pushes water to the spray arms. Moderate DIY repair.
I've had to repair this appliance before, and it's almost always the motor-pump that needs replacing. It's a pretty easy fix if you have a roll out dishwasher. All you have to do is flip the dishwasher on its back, unhook the pump (no tools required, just push down the locking tab and twist and disconnect the wiring), and plug in the new one. I noticed that the tub wasn't draining completely either, so I replaced the drain pump as well just to be on the safe side. If, as I did, you let this... Read more
Fix loud grinding noise or poor water circulation in your dishwasher. This pump and motor assembly circulates and drains water. Moderate DIY repair.
We initially noticed the dishwasher running loud and failing to completely clean dishes. Research suggested issues like this were normally caused by either the main circulation motor or the drain motor. Over the next week the noise worsened, and it became obvious that the circulation motor had went (loud whirring noise whenever the spin cycle kicked in). I watched a couple youtube videos on the removal and dissassembly until I felt confident that my wife and I could handle the project. For the... Read more
Fix dishwasher leaks from cracks or tears in the pump connector. Requires removing dishwasher and pump access. Video guide available for DIY repair.
In the How to fix it your self section of Questions and Answers, your answers for removing the Base Spray Arm is incorrect. It states "just stick a screw driver into the base spray arm from inside the tub and turn", that does not work. Their are 2 tabs that in gauge the base spray arm with the tub. A 4 prong round wrench is required to insert from the bottom into the pump connector and turn the nut that sits inside. Read more
Fixes water leaking from door vent during wash cycle. This blower motor assembly distributes heated air during drying. DIY repair takes 20-30 minutes.
The solenoid that opened the air vent for drying was broken so it was open during the wash cycle allowing water to escape into the air duct. Found the part at SearsParts and AppliancePartsPro, and Sears was $15 more expensive. I ordered on Friday from AppliancePartsPro and selected standard shipping and the part arrive the next day (Saturday). Amazing service. AppliancePartsPro will be my first stop in the future. Dishwasher won't wash or makes no noise during cycle? The pump and motor assembly circulates water through spray arms. Moderate difficulty repair.
Dishwasher failed to run normal cycle. Would fill and then empty, but would not run through the normal rinse/clean cycle. Determined that the Sump/Motor Assembly needed to be replaced. Dishwasher had to be pulled out to access part. Was difficult to snap into place and had to maneuver several times to get a tight seal before reattaching peripheral components. Ran a one-hour cycle to test for leaks and efficiency before reinstalling unit under counter. Read more

Leaking from the bottom or center of your dishwasher? The sump housing with included shaft seal often fixes this issue. DIY-friendly with video guide.
DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. Read more

Fix water leaking from under your dishwasher with this pump volute. Directs water flow and prevents leaks with integrated seal. 20-minute repair.
I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Since I'd ordered the volute and impeller seal kits (as I wasn't sure which it was) I installed both while I had it apart. Runs great, no water - simple to do. The seal changes took about 20 minutes. The only... Read more
