This tub seal kit replaces a worn or damaged tub gasket to restore the appliance's watertight seal and reduce leaks. It's a direct-replacement style kit used during tub or pump repairs to help maintain proper sealing. What it does:
The noise turned out to be the bottom bearing between the belt pulley and the transmission. Once apart an easy replacement. But you did need some tools to replace the bearing as in snap ring pliers and bearing puller. The water leak was the top rubber seal which is part of the seal kit. I had to make a puller out of some chain and a 2 jaw-bearing puller to the top of the transmission shaft to get the trunnion off but once it was off the rest was a snap. The video was a big help. Thes rings degrade over time due to heat and will eventually crack and dry out. Replacing them with new ones doesn't take much more than a few minutes. I just unscrewed the burner caps to expose the rings and dropped in the new ones. I recommend replacing all the rings at the same time vs just doing one or two. Read more
