This replacement evaporator shroud directs airflow around the evaporator/fan assembly and protects internal components for more consistent cooling. Installing a sound shroud helps restore even temperatures and reduces frost buildup or fan contact. What it does:
- Directs cooled air from the evaporator for even temperature distribution throughout the compartment
- Shields the evaporator and fan motor from loose items and debris
- Helps reduce frost buildup and airflow obstructions that can cause uneven cooling
- Minimizes fan vibration and contact noise when correctly installed
What's included: One shroud Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair.
- Remove interior panels, shelves, and any food before accessing the evaporator area.
- Handle edges carefully; plastic panels and sheet-metal openings can be sharp.
- Verify correct orientation and secure with the original fasteners; service diagram if fitment or mounting holes differ.

Profess: I have known for years that this model does not have the heater circuits that allows it to run in a cold room/garage. To solve this problem, I usually stuck a hair dryer on medium under the front lip to blow warm enough air back to the compressor area. Not finding hair dryers at Goodwill, I stuck a heat gun under there. No problems last year, but this year it stopped and I went to the back area to examine it. I found the heat gun had taken its toll on the plastic shroud and fan blade,...
