Kenmore / Sears Refrigerator Motor

I found several "threads" on my google search which indicated that it might be caused by a non-functional condenser fan. I removed the back bottom panel and voila, the fan was not spinning even though the compressor was running and felt very hot. If I spun the blades, the fan would run, but as soon as the compressor shut off, it would not start up again without my help. The replacement part was easy to find at AppliancePartsPros.com. Went online and searched for LG refrigerator error codes and discovered that code was freezedr fan failure. Ordered and replaced freezer fan motor assembly. Took longer to remove food from you freezer than to replace fan motor. Freezer working great now. Read more

After removing the evaporator cover inside the freezer, I noticed that the fan was having trouble starting without me touching it. I replaced the Evaporator fan motor. The new fan was much stronger and made more boys than the old dying motor. Read more

Replaced motor and new solenoid and yoke assembly, motor ran fine but Ice maker did not make Ice, water was turned on and the wire off and on latch was is the down position (on). Disconnected the water line from the Ice maker tray, ice had formed in the line while I was waiting for my parts (about 5 days), I would suggest disconnecting the water line at the feed end were your shut off valve is located and allow water to drain out of line. The unit is 15 years old. Instead of just replacing the Adaptive Defrost Control Board , I opted to replace all parts related to include the Heating Element, Defrost Thermostat, and the Evaporator Fan Motor. I feel it was worth the extra money and piece of mind not to worry about what would fail next. I removed both basket guides, removed the ice cube maker then removed the back wall panel, all only taking around 10 min. This gave me access to the fan, removed 2 more screws, disconnected 3 wires, all with connectors, then went in reverse to install new fan. 1/4" nut driver and a pair of needle nose pliers is all you need. The pliers are to remove the plastic wire keepers on the fan. Read more

Replaced the fan and blade. Would have been easy except the mounting threads were different than the original Kenmore freezer came with. After a 14 mile round trip for 2 5/32 screws and washers, I had my freezer back. Included an improved wiring harness than the original. Read more

1) disconnected motor from electrical supply. 2) undid housing brackets with a socket wrench. 3) undid two screws to remove motor and fan from housing. 4) pried fan off motor. 5) placed fan onto new motor. 6) put fan and motor back into housing. 6) put housing back with two screws from step two. 7) reconnected electrical supply from step one.
