Controls gas flow to individual cooktop burners on gas ranges. Replace if valve stem is bent, broken, or stuck, preventing smooth knob operation or shutoff.
What you will need: * replacement parts * small and regular Phillips screwdrivers * small wrench * soapy water in a spray bottle or leak detection spray Take apart the top of the stove control unit 1) turn off the gas to the stove, in my case I cannot get to the shutoff valve easily so I ended up turning off the electricity to the stove at the fuse box as that forces an emergency shutdown of the gas supply internally of the stove. 2) remove all 5 knobs, the grates at the top and open the oven... This assembly includes the spark ignition switches and wiring harness that control the igniter circuits on a gas range or cooktop. The switches detect burner position and signal the igniters to spark when a burner knob is turned. Replace this assembly if burners fail to ignite, click continuously without lighting, or if the spark module does not activate consistently.
My husband and myself didn't agree on which part was the exact problem. He felt it was the valve. I felt it was the ignitor/ orifice. And we both agreed the Harness-Ignitor needed to be replaced. So we ordered all 3, and I'm not sure if in fact all three were needed or not, but now with those parts replaced, the range is working like brand new!! Thanks to all the videos and diagrams on the website we were able to fix it ourselves easily. And the price was cheaper then other websites, also it... Read more

This is a large burner bowl replacement that can work with many models of stoves and ranges. Another term for these bowls is drip pan. The purpose of the drip pans is to protect the inner workings of the stove. They catch spills and drips when cooking. The stove shouldn't be used if the drip pans are damaged or missing. The main reason that the burner bowl might need to be replaced is that it has become dirty and can't be easily cleaned. Additionally, there is the chance that the burner bowls could eventually start to rust. This is a simple repair and should take only a few minutes. Be sure to unplug the stove or turn off the gas before starting a repair. The large burner bowl is for use with certain models of range from Whirlpool, General Electric, Kenmore, and Hotpoint. It is a genuine OEM replacement part sourced from the manufacturer. It is sold individually.
Purchased burner bowls and burner bowl seals for replacement. This was more difficult than it should have been. My GE stovetop sold as a Sears Kenmore included a parts list and exploded assembly diagram, but while my stovetop had one size of black burner bowl, the diagram and list included three sizes, and the part numbers listed turned out to be for white bowls. A search for "burner bowls" gave me three black bowls not listed but adjacent part numbers, so I assumed one of those must be the... Read more
