I pulled the old gasket off the door then I used rubbing alcohol to clean the mold along the back of the door and in the insert for the gasket seals . The new gasket fit extremely well and was very easy to put in. I waited 24 hours for the gasket to come back to its normal shape. After putting the gasket in I waited another 24 hours to make sure that I was getting no Icing inside the freezer area. There was no icing so the job is completed. Read more

Water dispenser came down to a trickle and made a lot of noise, I changed the filter but it didnt help and thus the water tank/head assembly needed to be replaced. Replacing the water Tank/head assembly was an easy task, the hardest part is removing the covers and taking care of not breaking the insulation of the water inlet hose. Removed the plastic shield, then unscrewed old bulb. Screwed in new bulb. New bulb has a slightly different screw base. Looked in several stores that carry appliance bulbs and could not find any bulbs that matched the unusual screw base. Replacing the snap-in plastic shield was difficult. Replaced not only the ice chute door flap which was squashed from years of use but the mechanism and motor that operates the flap. The old mechanism seemed to work but it seemed a little sloppy or loose. I knew the flap was bad but for the extra few dollars I thought since I had to take the cover off anyway, why not replace the whole thing. I’m glad I did. Kenmore model 106.74252402 fridge with icemaker. Believe it or not, this was fixed with only a 1/4" nutdriver. The parts fit exactly and took 10 minutes each to replace. The most surprising was the inlet valve. I didn't need to cut any tubing since the old valve had push-connectors like the replacement. It was identical.
