Ordered new door seals (gaskets) from Appliance Parts Pros. I was able to replace the freezer door seal without taking the door off the refrigerator. (Note: this is an over/under type refrigerator, with the freezer section on top) However, the first attempt at replacing the refrigerator door seal without removing the door from the fridge did not go well as the door appeared "warped" after I reassembled it and would not come close to sealing when I closed it. • Freezer section too warm

I ordered the replacement gasket and...replaced it. One issue was that the replacement procedure was not at all like the video to which I was directed when I got the gasket. The video showed a gasket with a rigid flange that had to be inserted into the door structure. On my Amana, I clearly had to remove the inner plastic liner and set the gasket under it. The cooling coils were iced-up. The ice was blocking air flow to the refrigerator. This resulted in the freezer working fine while the refrigerator was warm. Called AppliancePartsPros and talked to Sally. Sally was a big help in troubleshooting the problem. I ordered and replaced the cooling coil heater. If you attempt to do this repair yourself, BE CAREFUL, the cooling coil fins are sharp. Read more

I replaced the Ice Dispenser Lever. Since the replacement part is only available in white and my fridge is bone, I replaced also the Water Dispenser Lever, so it looks much better. I followed the instructions in the video, which were very useful and very well done. My problem was that the refrigerator is a KitchenAid built-in, while the instructions were for a Whirlpool, so the removal of the faceplate was quite different from what was shown in the video and more difficult.
