DIY, changed motor and sump. Put a dab of valve lubricant on seal. Wet outer seal of sump to get it to seat in bottom of tub. Cleaned electrical connectors corroded by leak. Coated connectors with dielectric grease. Had to buy additional clamp. Two clamps came in the sump package but both fit the smaller hose only. Neither fit the large hose. I wish the correct clamps were included. Home improvement store clamp is a little too wide to fit between ridges in large hose. Read more

I reviewed the schematic and saw the Volute Seal, and Impeller Seal were the two that were closest my source of water. After watching the video about changing the Impeller/seal I removed the motor, impeller, and volute; I found that the impeller seal was the faulty one in my case. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

I nearly shelled out for a new Kitchenaid when I remembered APP and entered my model # just for fun. The interactive diagrams and install videos showed where all the parts "should" be, mine were badly disintegrated, so I replaced the damaged ones and swapped out all of the other easily accessible seals and bearings (also gave it a good and very disturbing cleaning). With the basket out of the dishwasher, the plastic parts basically snap on and off... popped the broken parts off and the new parts on. The 2 wheel and mount assemblies were a little more complicated. The video on the website advises to disconnect the supply line and drain line... I didn't have to do this. I just pulled the dishwasher out of its cabinet a little over a foot and removed the 2 screws holding each assembly in place and removed them. The previous gaskets (2 PER ASSEMBLY)... Read more
