I removed the burners, which were rusted and needed some tapping.They were pretty stubborn to remove from the insert. I removed the spark igniters, which were rusted where they screwed into the burner and then removed the venturi tubes.. Once this was done, I installed the new igniters to the underside of the new burner. I then installed the burners, which only took simple placement and a quarter turn to lock them in. Our 19 year old Whirlpool dryer quit heating. After checking the thermal fuse, I found the ignitor electrically open. I bought an ignitor at a local store as there was a national holiday the next day and I did not want the dryer inoperative waiting several days for shipping. I disassembled my dryer and found that the fan(blower wheel) was "free-spinning" on the motor shaft. A common problem with this model Maytag dryer. I also discovered that the right drum roller (drum support roller) was in the process of failing. Note: the fan drive was frozen on the motor shaft, this was the threaded type of motor and fan assembly. Installed a new thermistor tempiture control and it heats up as it should. Tools used was a ohlm meter, 1" stiff puty knife, #2 Philips screw driver, neadle nose pliers,1/4 & 5/16 nut drivers. Read more

Door latch was a snap (literally). Package included Instructions and parts for 3 different latch types and an easy identification method for each type. Just identify the correct latch type for your dryer and "Snap" it in to the cutout on the inside of the dryer door . The Door handle requires you unscrew the small sheet metal screws (three on my dryer) on the top edge of the dryer door. I previously ordered the heating element, thermostat, and fuse. Also the rear drum rollers. However, after completing that repair I noticed that the terminal block and power cord had some damage from an apparent overheating while allowing the dryer to continue to run in order to dry the clothes.
