Jack February 12, 2012 for Model Number LSQ9110PW0 Washer runs, spins, rinses...but does not drain. When I lift lid the operation stops and when I close clid operation starts again. Took all clothes out, added cold water...still will not drain. Next steps?
1 Answer Hi Jack. It sounds like the lid switch is ok.Remove the top tub cover and see if there are balled up clothes in between the inner and outer basket. This will stop a spin out. Look under the unit to see in the middle of the floor area if you see rubber and plastic shavings. If so, the motor coupler part # 285753A needs changed. It may have just enough to work on way. If not un clip the motor brackets and dis mount the motor. Put your foot on the motor and see if now it will spin. This will tell you if the timer, wire harness and the motor are all ok. If so you need to change the stuck clutch assy. Part # 285785. Thank You. Read More...
Chuck B January 26, 2012 for Model Number Kenmore Model 70 cloths washer After doing some plumbing work around my house, now only the hot water works for my washer. I have checked the cold water valve - OK, I have replaced the lines and filter lines- ok, unfortunately still only hot water....not even a drip of cold water in the washer. Thanks for your help!
1 Answer Hello Chuck. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve is bad and will need to be replaced. Test for power to the cold valve when the washer is turned on. If there is power, but the washer does not bring in cold water, replace the valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Jim January 22, 2012 for Model Number 11020094993 Will not drain. Motor runs, new timer, and a new pump.
1 Answer Hello Jim. Check and see if the lid switch WP8054980 is bad on the unit and is preventing the unit from spinning and draining the water out. It should read closed with the lid closed on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
Cliff January 20, 2012 I have ( Unfortunately) a Calypso washer and its giving off a high pitch noise .This occures during water input to machine. However it doesnt make sence if water comes in via a solinoid valve. Is it perhaps a bearing or the pump making ths noise? All appears to work. Do I wait for failure of a part or replace?
1 Answer Hello Cliff. Based on the information you provided, the water valve assembly is bad and will need to be replaced. It is going bad. Hope this helps. Read More...
Jeff January 15, 2012 for Model Number sav2655aww Need to change the what is the procedur to do that do i have to take the water pump off or the motar and if i do what size is the bolt is it a hex
1 Answer Jeff, the part number you supplied is not for the model number you supplied. You will need 27001233 for that particular model number. Here's some help" 1. Remove service access panel, NOTE: There will always be some water that will remain in outer tub, before removing hoses from pump, hoses must be pinched off or drained to prevent water spillage. 2. Loosen hose clamps and remove hoses from pump assembly. 3. Unhook idler spring from clip on front of the motor mounting bracket.NOTE: Use care when releasing idler lever tension. If idler spring is overstretched, washer operation will be affected. 4. Reach in and around left side of motor and remove belt off large drive pulley. 5. Disconnect wire harness from motor switch by pressing down on locking tab on top of connection block and at the same time, pull connection block away from motor switch.6. Remove bolts securing motor and mounting bracket to lower outer tub flange and to weldment assembly.7. Lift complete assembly out of washer. NOTE: Lay motor on its side. Observe belt configuration around rear pump leg. Belt MUST encircle rear pump leg when reassembling. 8. Reverse procedure to reassemble.Pump and Belt Removal 1. Remove motor, see “Motor and Mounting Bracket” procedure.2. Remove screws securing pump assembly to motor.1. Remove any corrosion or foreign material from motor shaft. 2. Apply a thin film of lubricant to the end and sides of motor shaft.NOTE: This lubricant helps keep moisture out of the hub area and prevents corrosion. 3. Align belt on motor pulley and tension pulley." You'll need a variety of basic hand tools and a mechanis "SAE" socket and wrench set. Good Luck and Thanks Read More...
Rachelle January 07, 2012 for Model Number 11020722990 Problem with clothes being really damp after last spin cycle. Watched machine though cycles. Fills water ok, agitates ok, drains water (not all immediately - a little left in tub) then spins ok and no more water remaining. Don't know if all water supposed to be gone before spinning. Then refills water ok, agitates ok, drains completely ok. In last spin cycle more water is released into machine (not just in sprays) but actually dumps more in from the top back into the tub. I am not sure it is supposed to put more water in. I know it normally sprays but not sure whether it should be putting that much water back in. Then machine spins ok. I was advised it might be clutch assembly when I wrote initially saying clothes were damp but hadn't actually watched machine run through cycles at that time. Do you think still clutch assembly or could it be something else?
1 Answer Hi Rachelle. Start at the drain hose and make sure the standpipe is not clogged. Use liquid plumber. Then see if the drain hose is clogged or restricted. Then you may have a bad pump impeller. Pump part # WP3363394. You need to see if anything from the tub to the pump hose is clogged or that the outer tub hose is clogged. Lift the unit and support the legs. Then if you see a bunch of black dust then you definitely need to replace the motor coupler part # 285753A. Thank You. Read More...
Rachelle M. January 05, 2012 for Model Number 11020722990 Washer runs though cycles and washes clothes, but when it gets to last spin cycle, the water drains but clothes are extremely wet when I go to remove. I usually put it though the last spin cycle again and the clothes appear to be less wet but still wetter than normal. Do you think this is a coupling problem or could it be the lid switch?
1 Answer Hello Rachelle. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the clutch assembly 285785 may be bad in the unit. Check and see if it is work, and is not turning the tub fast enough and is slipping. If so, replace the clutch. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mudit December 28, 2011 for Model Number Whirlpool Washer Model #LSR8010PQ1 Greatly impressed by this site after I found it today for the first time! My washer (Top Load Whirlpool)will finish the wash cycles, leaving ~half gallon of water behind, so cloths are damp and soaking before moving to Dryer. Washer seems to be washing clothes, saw rotation of agitator etc and when tested for extra spin etc, I saw water pour and then draining as usual, except still leaving some water in bottom of drum. Following video instructions, I decided to open the unit with plans to replace Washer Pump (1) I opened the washer unit and removed the pump part(#AP2907492) as I was told to replace. I was not sure if Pump needed replaced as it seems to be working in my opinion. Lot of water came out when I checked both tub and drain hoses, but nothing stuck there. Moving drum by hand caused more water to come out, I thought this as normal. (2) I thought there was something stuck (e.g. a sock) unerneather Agitator Base unit as the agitator base was NOT moving and seem stuck. The top part, Move Agit was turning as normal. So I removed Mover Agit and agitator base unit (AP2906554) by removing the bolt and pulling the whole unit out, just like in video. Found nothing stuck under the agitator. (3) I have opened the whole Washer unit following video instrcutions and need to know what part to replace and fix. Is it the pump (AP2907492), the clutch assembly (AP3094537) or some thing else. PLEASE HELP. I can test anything since the unit is open. What could be my problem and how do I fix it?? Thanks MUCH.
1 Answer Hello Mudit. If the water is shutting off, and the hoses are clear, then it sounds like the pump WP3363394 is not working properly and will need to be replaced. Hope this helps. Read More...
1 Answer Hello Ken. The model number you provided should spin and drain at the same time. The motor powers the pump WP3363394, so when it goes into spin cycle, the motor both spins the basket and pumps out the water at the same time. If the unit is not pumping and is only spinning, you will need to replace the pump on the washer. Hope this helps. Read More...
Mark December 10, 2011 for Model Number ITW4100SQ0 My washer operates normally but it won't spin. I've changed the clutch, lid switch, timer, and transmission. It get to spin cycle makes a humming noise then trips the circuit. Do you think I need a motor or a pump?
1 Answer Mark. Remove the pump and see if there is anything obstructing it. If so it will stop it in one direction (spin). The pump is part # WP3363394. Remove the motor and make sure it is working in the spin mode. Isolate it and firmly put your foot on it and start it momentarily, if it does hum, check the capacitor to see if it has a hole in it on the top. Capacitor part # WP8572717. The motor is part # WP661600. Thank You. Read More...
