Refrigerator Gasket & Seal

Loosened nuts around outer flange. Pulled out old gasket as shown in video. Prepared new gasket per included instructions. Installed new gasket again using techniques shown in video. Secured nuts then confirmed proper seal. This was not a difficult repair however patience and care is needed to ensure new gasket is properly seated without damage. Read more

The gaskets arrived the day after ordering. I went on Google to watch videos of how the gaskets for my model refrigerator were to be replaced. After viewing the videos I anticipated a more difficult time completing the replacement, when in fact is was very simple. I removed the old gaskets and placed the new ones in the dryer to soften and make more pliable for replacement. It went extremely smoothly even though I anticipated having issues. Read more

First I ordered a new ice door seal, spring, and crank, figuring the condensation in freezer and door was caused by ice door not sealing. Turns out the solenoid for the ice door was completely rusted and was the primary cause, if it had been replaced early, it would have saved the dispenser board. What then happened was the moisture in the freezer door damaged the control board rendering dispenser controls inoperative as well as the heater around the dispenser. Since the fridge was an older model, it had screws behind the gaskets. First, I removed the freezer door, then I loosened the screws and removed the old gasket. I then placed the new gaskets, corner first, then worked my way around the door until all sides was done. I tightened the screws. For the lower door, I didn't remove the door but I removed all items from the door shelves. I called Appliance Parts Pros and gave them the model number of my refrigerator. They promptly advised me exactly what part I needed, told me the price and cost of shipping. I agreed and received my part within 2 days. I watched the video that told me exactly how to complete repair. It was very simple. The only thing different was that there was a metal strip holding the gasket in place. Removing it was no problem. When I installed it I had to loosen the screws? nuts? slip the gasket... Read more
