Bad gasket / melted tray (my fault dishwasher) Donald T. • Stewartstown , PA • August 09, 2016
The tray was simple, pick up the old one, pop in the new one.
The gasket for my refrigerator was almost as easy. When I received the part I opened it up and let it lay flat for about 3 days (probably overkill). The old gasket popped right out and the new one went in really easy. The entire job took me about 10 minutes to do, no tools required. I do recommend that you start with corners and work your way to the middle of each side. I found that would prevent any stretching. You also need to...

Part Number: 5304505782
The Gasket is an OEM part for Frigidaire refrigerators. This door gasket is crucial for creating an airtight seal around the door, ensuring that the cold air stays inside the refrigerator to maintain optimal food preservation conditions. The gasket helps to prevent warm air from entering, which can lead to frost buildup and increased energy consumption as the refrigerator works harder to keep its contents cool.
The primary cause of gasket wear and tear is frequent use, which can stretch or damage the seal over time. Other factors include aging of the rubber material, which can lose its elasticity, and improper cleaning methods that can degrade the gasket's integrity.
Symptoms of a faulty Gasket include:
- Noticeable gaps or tears in the gasket, which can lead to cold air escaping.
- The refrigerator runs more frequently or for longer periods, indicating it's struggling to maintain the desired temperature.
- Condensation or frost buildup around the door edges, a sign that warm air is entering the refrigerator.
This OEM Frigidaire part is also compatible with Electrolux, Gibson, Kelvinator and some Kenmore models.

Freezer dripping water from the front corner. Terri B. • Huntington Beach , CA • August 08, 2021
I believe we had two problems. Our gasket was ripped in several places and our drain pan line was clogged. Therefore the water was frozen and backing up into the freezer. Replacing the gasket is an easy job and could possibly be done quickly enough that you don’t have to remove your freezer food items if you don’t discover additional problems during the process. The most time-consuming part is the approximately 40 screws that hold the freezer door shelf panel and gasket to the door itself. ...

Ordered new gaskets from Appliance Parts Pros, arrived in 4 days. Removed old gaskets and replaced by starting at top corner and. Pushing seal into slot. Day before, opened seal boxes and spread seals to smooth out. Took about 10 minutes to replace both door seals. Right door magnetic seal improved but not great. Adjusted level and installed a 1/16” washer in door bottom hinge, which leveled door better and improved the seal strength.
