Ice maker stopped working or not making ice? This complete ice maker assembly restores production. DIY install in 20-30 minutes with basic tools.
I replaced the ice maker after replacing the ice try and before that the ice chute gasket. All easy fixes. However, I am still seeing some frost build-up leading me to believe that the issue is just a faulty design, which I have read other posts on. Just too much warm air gets in the ice maker because it is located in the refrigerator, plus warm air probably finds its way from the outside dispenser, up the chute into the ice maker. Oh well, nothing the occasional hair dryer won't take care of,... Read more

I loosened middle hinge by the 2 screws which holds a power cord that clips together, then slid the hinge flap upward to release from the door. My bottom clip hinge was broken away from spring and the only way to attach a new hinge clip was to carefully separate the hinge flap. This can be done by squeezing the flap to see where the separation seams are. Small narrow screwdrivers along with a spatula will do without damaging the plastic. This allowed for acess to the spring which connects to a... Read more
Ice maker stopped working or water line freezing up? This fill tube assembly with built-in heater restores ice production. DIY-friendly repair.
My husband figured that the line to the icemaker was either clogged or had frozen over. We found some posts of people defrosting the icemaker by just leaving the freezer door open or with a hairdryer or space heater, but this seemed to be only a temporary fix so we didn’t do that. Lots of videos out there for Samsung through-the-door top icemaker as, but it was difficult to find any advice for our bottom freezer style (RF261BEAESR). But the parts diagrams on Appliancepartpros are very useful... Read more
Ice overflowing the bin? A broken ice maker shut off arm can't detect full ice levels. Simple DIY fix with one Phillips screw. Video guide included.
I heard a cracking sound so I opened the freezer again and found that it was s piece of plastic -- a small bar -- that had broken off of something. I went online, first to identify the broken part. It was the ice guide. I had to do a bit more research to find out what the ice guide does, as well as the part number. I found it easily on appliancepartspros.com. (I think I purchased a new heating element for my electric oven from you and was able to fix it VERY easily. I was hoping this new repair... Read more
Seals the refrigerator door to keep cold air in and prevent condensation. Replace when cracked, torn, or not sealing properly. Confirm fit by model.
First, I removed the old gaskets, which was a very easy task since they are held in the doors by rubber beads in recessed slots. I installed the new right door gasket in less than 10 minutes by gradually pushing the retainer bead into the door recessed slot with finger pressure until it was seated properly. The left door bead was somewhat more difficult to install into the bead slot, because the recessed bead slot is covered by a hinged flap on its left edge that doesn't permit easy access.... Read more

This is a thermistor-style temperature sensor that monitors the internal temperature of the refrigerator compartment and sends readings to the control board. The control board uses this data to regulate the compressor and defrost cycles. Fix warm fridge temps and ice buildup with this evaporator fan motor. Common when fan makes grinding noise or stops running. DIY repair in 2-3 hours.
I took all the items out of the refrigerator. Removed the screws that hold the cover over the evaporator motor. Than for three hours used a hair drier to remove ice. The panel was frozen on if you pull on it it will break. Soaked up all the water removed the panel and took the fan blade off. Took a bit to diagnose. First tried cleaning coils but the problem still persisted. Next took of the back panel and put the system into diag mode. (Press energy save button and fridge button for eight seconds system ding once a second and inverter board red LED will blink a code or be on solid if no issue. Fix ice or water that won't stop dispensing with this dispenser control switch. Resolves stuck dispenser issues. DIY repair in under 30 minutes.
First, I modified old butter knife by bending a 90° angle about 3/4" from the tip. I slid the bent in up under the bottom of the switch cover and worked it to one side. I then rotated the knife downward using the bent end to pry the cover off. The switch is held by plastic arms on each side. The bottom right arm has a locating pin that fits into the switch. Unplugged the switch and re-installed. Read more
Replacement rear caster wheel for refrigerators. Restores mobility when original wheel is broken, cracked, or damaged. Mounts to bottom rear of unit.
I have a large Samsung 4 door refrigerator. One of the rear wheels broke. To replace it, you need the wheel and the shaft. To lift the refrigerator for the repair, I had my wife stand in front of it with her foot on a board that was wedged against the front wheels. I then pushed the refrigerator up from behind and slid a 3/4" piece of plywood underneath the bottom with my foot. This gives you enough space to do the repair. After removing the back cover, it's best just to knock out the broken... Read more
