Replaced timer, thermostat, a thermal fuse, the pair of thermal cutoff switches and finally the heater element. • No heat or not enough heat

I ordered all the parts necessary to replace the heating element and thermostat on a Sunday night. Appliance Parts Pros shipped on Monday AM and I received them on Wednesday. It took me 45 minutes to disassemble the dryer, replace the parts and have the dryer working again. It should be good for another 35 years which should cover me for my needs. Phillips head screwdriver. Unscrewed the door hinge from dryer. Removed/Unscrewed back of door panel and removed panel. Keep track of screws removed as there are two different types specific for reassembly. I unscrewed the glass panel frame which was held in place with "torx" head screws, which was not necessary. Separated back panel from front frame. Unscrewed broken door handle pieces. Replaced and screwed in place new door handle. Perfect fit. Replaced back panel to door frame and lined up... Read more

I used the web site to figure out the most likely causes for the drum not turning. I watched the web site's videos to see what I would have to do and thought it wasn't too bad; something a rookie could do. Ordered the parts (belt and idler arm) and followed the directions from the videos. Mostly a bunch of screws/bolts to remove with a couple in difficult places. • Won't start

Replace the water temperature sensor and still had the error code. While I had the back of the machine open I ran the washer. I traced the black wires from the temperature sensor and wiggled them as the washer was running. At one zip tie every time i moved the wires the washer would stop running and the error code would flash. Sure enough, like many others posted, the vibration from the machine had split the wire. I spiced the wire back together and have not had a problem since. Read more

First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm. After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't. I had been ordering the wrong parts - I did use the online parts locator after checking, & double checking my model number. The part came within 3 days. The fix was straight forward ...unscrewed the hinge from the dryer then from the door and replaced with new hinge and the door closes the way it should. Read more

Replaced the heater tube. Had to open the back up, removed the heating element and then replaced the heater tube. Then I put it all together again and everything is fine now. Read more
