After watching a number of videos and reading a lot of trouble-shooting discussions online I had ideas of what to look for as possible causes of the overfilling of the drum. I found the water level pressure hose had worn through after contacting the rotor. After temporarily taping the hose, I found the service manual inside the machine so I ran it through it test sequences without any error codes. Ordered a new drain hose and extension part. The prices including shipping were more reasonable than driving back and forth to the store just to piece meal parts together. Very frustrating. I ordered the parts that were specific to our washing machine, it took maybe 5 minutes to install, and everything fit perfectly. Now we're washing again and no leaks! Read more

Put in new lid lock. This is my second one in 1 year. Whirlpool suggested I leave it loose so that if somebody did try and force it open, it wouldn't break it. This lid lock has 4 wires and cannot be bypassed. Read more

This hose did not just attach to the back of the washer--that would have been too easy. This hose went into the back of the washer, under the tub & attached to the pump at the front of the washer. Both the back & front of the washer had to be removed to access the hose. Luckily the crack was at an external spot where it was easily seen; unluckily my husband was out of town at the time & I had to take the washer apart & put it back together. Checked catch filter and realized pump was gone. This is my 2nd time replacing a pump but 1st on machine. I have a cleaning business and my washer gets double the work. The drying agent lid was broken for a couple years now and our dishes would never dry completely. We finally decided to google for Kenmore parts and this website came up. Washing machine pump failed with the washing machine full of water. Replacing a pump used to be a bear of a job with belts, pulleys, etc. but I thought that I should give it a look before I called the repairman. First remove the back from the washing machine. Top of the machine came off simple. To replace springs, I took a crow bar but it on the right side underneath where one of the springs should be. Lift the tumbler up remove and replace the spring. Did the same thing to the other side. On the tumbling unit there are spaces for three shock absorbers. Mine only had one shock in the middle.
