I took the cover off the transmission and determined that the only possible knocking had to be coming from the yoke. I ordered a new yoke and all the tub seals needed to put it back together like new. I also ordered a new drive pulley bearing because this bearing is always turning whenever the washer is used. 18 year old Maytag Atlantis top load washer had a load knocking and rattle sound with excessive vibration when the tub was spinning, but not when it was agitating. They was no water leaking. It was a learning experience. First I turned off the power! I removed the lower kick plate, disconnected the drain hose and electrical connectors. Then removed the discharge pump and heat sensor then loosened the 4 hold down arms/clamps. Then I opened the door and pulled the base up from the inside. Now to remove and replace the Pump Motor. Then reverse the process. If I were to do again, I'd pull the dishwasher out and lay it on its back. Read more

DIY. The delivery to Milwaukee took two days. The project was very easy and took about 1hr. The only tools required were a screw driver (electric) and a pliers. Just make sure your irganized with the screws so you don't lose any or mix up which ones go back in which holes. There's about 20 total screws. Bought this door gasket and watched the video, very easy if you just take your time and start in one corner and go to the opposite corner. this way it stretches the seal completely into each corner. do as the video says and it will go great. Read more

I referenced the repair video. Very straightforward and easy. Only need 3 tools: 1/4 and 5/16 nut drivers and Philips head screwdriver. About 15 minute job. Surprising how much lint and dust build up inside the chassis, was able to clean that out too. Read more
