This cap is a small protective cover used in select appliances. It helps secure and seal its mating component, preventing leaks, debris intrusion, or loosening during normal operation.
Removed the back cover. (Glad I used my power tool to remove all the screws) I then removed the sheared off part of the bolt using drill and easy-out tool. It was a straightforward install of the new bolt. I added a little bit of blue Loctite even though the bolt already had some dry thread sealer. I torqued it down enough to hold everything snug.
