The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. After reviewing the 'how to' video on AppliancePartsPros.com, I unplugged the refrigerator and removed the back cover to access the motor. I then unplugged the wiring and removed the bad motor. I cut the clip plug and wired it to the new motor, installed the fan blade from the old motor and re-installed the new motor. Ice Door Kit, Control Bracket, and Ice Dispenser Guide were purchased. I followed two videos on replacing the parts. The Control Bracket WP2180226 / AP6005965, was straight forward and I discovered a snapped pin on the old bracket causing an electric switch to be out of place... that repair was easy. I had to replace the drive shaft and the lower agitator. The motor coupling was also worn out. The repair was challenging because I had to rebuild the gear box. This step was really messy and I had to wait for the liquid gasket to set prior to completing the repair. Cleaning and prep of all of the parts tripled the repair time. Read more

1. After hearing a loud noise on the freezer side of unit about halfway up, I started investigating what it could be? My conclusion was evaporator motor or evaporator fan blade. Pulled the washer apart (using your videos as a refresher) and found that the plastic coupling between the motor and the transmission had failed. Searched for parts vendors and found your site. Ordered the coupling on-line and went back down to clean up the machine. In the cleaning process I found a damaged thrust washer for the upper agitator and broken drive dogs for that same agitator.
