I went to Appliance Parts Pros and watched a few videos. Ordered the door closer plate and door hinge bearing. Removed all of the door bins and contents. Removed four screws total. Lifted the door off of the hinge, replace the two parts on the bottom hinge. Put the door back on the hinge with a little silicone on the new parts. Replaced all of the screws and no more popping. It took more time to clean all of the door bins than to fix the hinge. The video was 100% accurate. No surprises. Read more

I removed the front panel of the dryer and the metal cover over the blower wheel. Removed the lock ring and clamp. Removed the old wheel and placed the new wheel on the shaft. I thoroughly cleaned all the lint around the area and inside the front cover. I resealed the metal cover over the blower and reinstalled the front cover. Dryer works great. Easy fix, I spent more time thoroughly cleaning all the lint. Read more

The very easy diagnosis was motor seizure. Because the machine is about a decade old, I decided to renovate most of the guts. My DIY project included replacing the motor, blower, drum bearing, belt, and door hinge. The end result is a functional dryer with no left-over parts. After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear.
