Thermal fuse blown on Whirlpool silent partner dishwasher Robert W. • Beloit , WI • August 26, 2018
I ordered a "Thermal Fuse" for a Whirlpool dishwasher. The part didn't fit in the old slot, nor did the tabs fit perfectly in the electrical connections, but it was the best I could find. I suppose the machine is too old to have current repair parts. But, it made the dishwasher work. The fuse is now hanging outside the control panel cover, connected, and working just fine.

This turbidity sensor monitors wash water clarity so the machine can adjust wash cycles and rinse times for cleaner results and efficient water use. It replaces a failed or inconsistent turbidity reading to restore proper load sensing. What it does:
- Detects soil level/turbidity in wash water so the washer adapts cycle length and rinse actions
- Helps prevent over- or under-washing by feeding water-quality signals to the control board
- Commonly replaces units that cause long or short cycles, poor cleaning, or error codes related to wash sensing
What's included: One turbidity sensor Install notes:
- Disconnect power before replacing to avoid shock or damage to electronics
- Handle the sensor and connectors carefully; avoid contaminating sensing surfaces
- Verify connector orientation and secure mounting; test a short cycle after installation

No hot water and dishes not cleaning or drying Heath Q. • Helotes , TX • June 19, 2016
I replaced the heating element and the turbidity sensor. On the LG dishwasher I have, there is no thermostat or temperature sensor. Only the turbidity sensor, which apparently is the thermostat so it took me a bit to figure that out. Once replaced took about 2 runs to make sure everything was good to go!

This thermal cutoff assembly helps protect the appliance from overheating by interrupting power when temperatures exceed safe limits. It's a direct-replacement kit used to restore over-temp protection and safety. What it does:
- Senses excessive temperature and opens the circuit to stop heating when a fault or overheating occurs
- Prevents further heat buildup that can damage the appliance or create a fire risk
- Commonly used when the appliance no longer heats correctly or trips thermal safety devices
- Works as part of the unit's temperature-safety system alongside thermostats and fuses
What's included:
- One thermal cutoff assembly
Install notes:
- Disconnect power to the appliance before servicing to avoid shock or injury
- Handle the part and wiring carefully; follow OEM wiring orientation and routing
- Confirm continuity of the TCO and related components with a multimeter before and after replacement
