Before we replaced the board, my wife tried to replace just the element. We had one we had ordered several years ago when this same thing happened. When that didn't work we replaced the board and could see where the old board was damaged so we figured this was the solution. 1. After hearing a loud noise on the freezer side of unit about halfway up, I started investigating what it could be? My conclusion was evaporator motor or evaporator fan blade. One of the signs of this issue was a distinct change in sound when I opened the freezer door. I ordered a new motor and blade, not knowing exactly what it was. 2. I removed the meat drawer and shelving unit. I unscrewed the Philips head screws on either side of the shelf brackets. I cleaned the old surfaces and fitted the new plastic hangers in place. I screwed the new hangers in place with the screws I had from the old ones. It was very easy, except the holes in the plastic hanger are not quiet big enough for the screws. We just had the Defrost Timer replaced less than 90 days ago. Called the appliance company who came to diagnose ($109) and it was the same part, (a $34 part). The part was warrantied, but not the service, which was $270. I saw them install the part in July... less than 5 minutes! • Ice maker not making ice

I determined my thermostat was defective, ordered the thermostat which arrived in two days and I replaced the thermostat and I now have a full bin of ice !!! I removed to the cover to the coil, defrosted coil with a heat gun and checked the heater strip resistance. I set timer to defrost by hand to make sure everything was working. There was damage to the temp control sensor. Both parts were on your web site at a good price, ordering was easy. The parts were in the mail two days later. A screwdriver and nut driver were the only other tools other than a multi meter. Parts installed in five min. I had the option of talking with a pro !!! Read more

I originally ordered the Fan motor from a appliance dealer. I waited for 5 days for it to arrive. In the meantime I scavenge a motor from a junk refrigerator from the dump. It worked while I waited for the motor from the appliance dealer. When I picked it up 5 days later it was the "wrong" part. I was fuming mad. Fixed it by replacing the electronic control board. Only 30 min. to fix. (See further down for effort to diagnose the problem.) Most of this "fixing time" was spent removing the control panel to access the control board that is attached to it. My freezer has the control panel located in the top center of the door. 1. Sleeve for input, Injector valve, nozzle and seal for input fixed this problem. Probably the main part that was the trouble was a deformed Injector Valve which is a rubber tube with an internal retention groove at the wide part that grips the Nozzle. The Sleeve and the Nozzle are hard plastic parts that basically looked fine, but I replaced them anyway while I was in there. Replaced both The electrical board I found under the fridge was very easy to replace. The fan motor took a minute to bed puns and the biggest challenge was taking off/on the back panel to get to it. (By the way it was located in the freezer section. take drawers out to get to it. Read more
