Selected and ordered parts from online drawings. Watched videos showing how to make repair. Replaced worn parts with new ones. Suggested improvement: Videos didn't show my model (I know there are many models, showing all is probably not possible). In case of Felt the video showed a Maytag dryer when my model was GE. • No heat or not enough heat

Removed back panel of dryer. Pulled out part out of its clamp. Placed new igniter in clamp, then dried some clothes and it worked. Read more

On/Off switch was not working on our GE dryer. An appliance repair person told me he would charge $350 for the part and service. Replaced the top bearing assembly, drive belt, and blower wheel. The most time consuming and difficult part was putting the new drive belt back on the pulley and tensioner. Be sure to know how it is routed through them. It is a very tight fit getting your arm in there and connecting it blindly. Read more

I replaced the drum bearing in the back and also the nylon sliders in the front. It rook some time but was not difficult. I took some extra time to thoroughly clean all the lint from the inside. Read more

I ordered two new baffles and 7 screws. I also ordered 6 large washers. We were running with one baffle held by only 2 of 3 screws. It appears that a repairman in the past had removed the large washers and over time, the screw heads reamed out the hole, causing the baffles to detach and break. In about 15 minutes, I was able to tighten up the existing baffle and add the two new ones. I also added the 6 big washers to help strengthen this to prevent future issues. • Timer will not advance

Just as the folks in the comments section said, I tested everything to make sure the timer had power which it did. I then tested with the OHM tester and saw that the switch was open when the timer was set to any drying cycle. So i changed the timer and voila! timer is functioning again. It was a very easy fix. Removed lid. Removed switch panel. Suspected open circuit in thermal fuse. Tested it with a multimeter first to confirm it had an open circuit. This part is obsolete. Contacted manufacturer and found part supercedes to a different part number Ordered part. (This website is very efficient. The part arrived with the 1.7 day promise time.) new fuse bracket is slightly larger due to supercession. Marked bolt hole locations and drilled new. Installed fuse. Order set of drum rollers. My dryer required four. As long as I was opening up the dryer, dryer, 10 years old, I wanted to replace all of them. Also ordered new belt for Sam reason.
