Soap dispenser wouldn't close door kept falling down Graeme M. • Branford , CT • October 07, 2017
First replaced the latch, spring, and lever, but no improvement. Then I saw the lever arm on the other half of the door, which by position had to be the way that the timer interacts with the soap dispenser. After turning off the power to the dishwasher, I removed the switch cover (not obvious how -- a video would help: on the left, I slid the narrow rectangular plastic wire cover a little to one side and gently opened it on its little hinge, which is near the left side of the door, and then...

Broken spray arm Robert F. • Port St Lucie , FL • September 20, 2014
I did not know how to remove the broken spray arm so when I muscled it out, the spray arm base broke. We ordered the replacement parts from appliance parts pros and received them within 2 days. I looked online to find out how to remove the spray arm base. I removed it be unscrewing the base, screwing the replacement base, and then snapping in the new spray arm. We tested the dishwasher and it worked just like it was new. Another new task learned and completed!!

Middle spray arm was not rotating Glenn S. • Holly Springs , NC • February 22, 2015
The replacement of the arm took a total of 3 minutes, all I needed was a nut driver for the easy job, taking the old arm out and putting the new one in, exact replacement , I appreciate you getting the part out as fast as you did. It took an extra day because of the ice storm we had . That was ok. Thanks you .

Bottom dishwasher rack needed new wheels Thomas C. • Alton , IL • December 19, 2014
I found my parts and ordered the six I needed, however I did not pick up on the difference from the front wheels to the rear wheels in the the descriptions. The rear wheels are narrower and I ordered all front wheels, six fronts instead of four front and two rear. I made it work by using the axle from the new wheel with two old narrow wheels.

Note: This is the complete solenoid assembly kit. For armature & linkage assembly only, use WD1X1316.
The Solenoid Assembly is an OEM part for GE dishwashers. It plays a crucial role in controlling the flow of water into the dishwasher by activating or deactivating the drain valve. This assembly is essential for ensuring that the dishwasher fills and drains at the correct times during the wash cycle, which is pivotal for the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the appliance.
Common causes for a Solenoid Assembly to fail include wear and tear over time, mineral buildup from hard water, or electrical failures that prevent the solenoid from operating as intended.
Symptoms of a bad Solenoid Assembly include:
- Failure of the dishwasher to drain properly, leading to water accumulation at the bottom.
- The dishwasher not filling with water as it should, affecting the cleaning process.
- Unusual noises coming from the dishwasher, which may indicate the solenoid is failing to engage or disengage correctly.
This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
This part fixes the following symptoms
-
Will not fill with water
-
Will not drain

Cover detergent cup would not close or stay closed Michael G. • Wareham , MA • October 01, 2019
Although I ordered the latch, lever and a new cup and replace the original pieces the dispenser still did not close. On further inspection it turned out to be a small spring that had fallen out of place. Once the spring was reconnected the dispensing cover worked fine. I'm still happy that I replaced the entire assembly with new parts regardless. Discovering the loose spring took the most time.

GE dishwasher gld 5500 l leaking water in front of unit. Joseph F. • Paso Robles , CA • January 22, 2019
All parts arrived in one box - I purchased the tub gasket, lower door gasket and lower door seal. My existing parts were visibly pretty worn out, dishwasher is 12 years old (maybe should have just bought anew one?).
Tub gasket was pretty easy, it took me a while to make sure it was even all the way around, after attest run and the subsequent drying heat it fits nicely.
Lower door seal went as video, all good, my other one was destroyed from the heat cycles.
Could not get the lower door seal...

$1000 dishwasher didn't clean dishes Kevin W. • Rochester , MA • January 20, 2016
Our GE was installed about 8 years ago and was AWESOME for much of its early life. However, progressively its cleaning ability diminished. By replacing all the spray arms (clogged with debris), filters, drain hose, and sump...this dishwasher cleans like it did when it was new! Cost was around $100 (also replaced a wheel and the silverware basket) and labor was relatively simple. And to think...my mother-in-law said, "Wouldn't it just be easier to buy a new one?!?".

Old and leaking inlet sump ? Nicholson J. • Henderson , NC • December 06, 2014
Replaced with a new Inlet Sump [WD18X213]. It was a little tedious, attaching the Inlet Sump, back to the pump, because I did the job with the dishwasher in place (not pulled out). My dishwasher was plumbed with copper pipe, so I really didn't want to upset that. Also, I had previously replaced the motor and the pump in this dishwasher, so I was familiar with how the Inlet Sump attached to the pump. Again, it's very tight working under the unit while it is still in place, and I wouldn't...

My ge (adore; no longer made by ge) dishwasher motor had a dead spot and would not engage unless the fan blades were manually turned Edward J. • Hendersonville , TN • July 08, 2015
I ordered a new motor through ApplianceParts Pros.com and had the new part within 5 days. The entire replacement took approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours. The repair was relatively simple and straight forward. By doing the work myself I saved over $250. Originally a GE technician quoted a price of $489 to replace the motor to repair the dishwasher. For that price I could have bought a new dishwasher (Electronix Express $491) but not with all the features of my current appliance. By doing the...

The Dishwasher Door Cable is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. It works with the door latch assembly to ensure secure closure of the dishwasher door. The cable is responsible for connecting the door handle mechanism to the latch, allowing users to easily open and close the door with a gentle pull or push. Note: It is recommended to replace both at the same time.
Symptoms of a bad door cable include:
- The door not fully latching or staying closed securely
- Excessive movement or play of the door when closed
- The cable becoming worn, frayed, or detached
Causes of a bad cable can be frequent use that results in wear and fatigue of the internal wiring over time. Damage from harsh detergents or excess moisture can also compromise the cable.
This OEM GE replacement part is compatible with models from Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore dishwashers as well.
