The Check Valve Flapper is an OEM replacement part for GE dishwashers. It is a small but crucial component located within the water inlet valve assembly. The check valve flapper regulates water flow into the dishwasher, allowing water to enter during the fill cycles but preventing backflow when the water is drained.
Causes of a bad check valve flapper can include wear and tear over time, mineral buildup that causes sticking, or damage to the flapper itself. This prevents the flapper from opening and closing as intended.
Symptoms of a bad check valve flapper include:
- Slow or incomplete filling of water
- Dripping or leaking water from the inlet area
- Error codes related to water issues
This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore dishwasher models.

Continuously plugged spray arms from disintegrated rubber sump Bruce B. • Tega Cay , SC • December 27, 2014
Pulled dishwasher from the cabinet and flipped onto its side. Easy access to sump and drain flapper valve that I also replaced. Rubber sump coming apart into soft pills & chunks and plugging spray arms. Better now but it's rediculous that GE would make components that dissolve this way.

Defective dishwasher water intake pump. Jim J. • Lorraine , KS • July 10, 2020
Only two screws hold the mount of the pump in the lower left near the floor. Easy access by removing the front covers then remove the two mounting screws to the pump assy. Then remove the intake and output hoses. I noticed on the new pump a male hose bib on the intake. Supplied with the dishwasher was the smooth intake water tube. Best to not reuse this supplied hose. It just won't clamp tight enough for a good seal. Cut a portion from a garden hose the same size as the intake valve bib...

Broken base spray arm tab that holds the bottom rotating spray arm in place Barry G. • Sinking Spring , PA • August 24, 2015
In the How to fix it your self section of Questions and Answers, your answers for removing the Base Spray Arm is incorrect. It states "just stick a screw driver into the base spray arm from inside the tub and turn", that does not work. Their are 2 tabs that in gauge the base spray arm with the tub. A 4 prong round wrench is required to insert from the bottom into the pump connector and turn the nut that sits inside.

Interlock switch was broken Gregory L. • Cape Coral , FL • June 06, 2015
First off OUTSTANDING experience with AppliancePartsPros.com! Ordered my parts on Tuesday and they arrived Wed morning!! Replaced interlock switch plunger and spring, which was obviously broken compared to the new one. This solved the problem of my door not latching but the machine would still not turn on.
So with two interlock switches on the door, one had to be bad. So decided to start by replacing one switch at a time until I found the bad one. If both were bad I would just buy a...

GE door came off hinges and was not staying closed Donnell W. • Ferguson , MO • October 12, 2019
Once I located the parts involved in the factory exploded drawing I ordered a cable and spring. Then, when I had the dishwasher pulled out I saw that both cables had simply slipped off of their pulleys and that the door needed to be re-set properly into its drop-down metal studs.
So now I have a spare set for any problems in the future! Very easy - two screws under the counter and pull forward. Shipping was quick and easy. First time customer.

This is a genuine replacement coupler for select dishwashers made by GE and Hotpoint. The dishwasher coupler is designed to connect the spray arm to the unit and provide the connection for the water supply. This durable plastic coupler is subject to high heat and repetitive motion and can break or wear down over time. This could result in dishes not be cleaned properly. The unit may also be leaking or failing to drain. In the event that this happens, a replacement will be needed. This OEM coupler is manufactured to exact standards. It is sold as an individual unit and does not include any additional accessories or hardware. The spray arm will need to be accessed in order to complete this repair, which requires a nut driver and flathead screwdriver. Be sure to wear gloves and unplug the unit before performing any repairs. Remove the spray arm and the filter in order to access the coupler. Remove the old part and replace the new one, then replace the filter and spray arm and test the unit for leaks.

The dishwasher would not drain sometimes Thomas W. • Oceanside , CA • October 02, 2016
I replaced the pump drain assembly. The flapper valve was included in the assembly, so I did not need to order that. On previous repairs, the old drain hose was tricky to reinstall, so I replaced it and the hose clamp. The silverware basket had holes in the bottom and required replacement. I had some broken tine clips.

Took the washer out, turned it over and found the solenoid that worked the drain valve to be melted, and the shaft that the solenoid activates was heavily corroded. I found the right parts on your website after reading the notes left by other customers, then watched the video. The repairs were fairly simple and successful. This was a GE profile dishwasher.

Repair parts arrived super fast.

It took over 2 hours because the unit had to be removed after the water and power were disconnected and then the initial problem diagnosed (motor brushes worn beyond service limits).
