I bought a new cooling motor and blade and installed it, everything seems to be working fine now, did not take that long to fix, maybe about 30 minutes, the longest part was trying to get the old fan off the old motor, finally had to cut it off with bolt cutters, I have a 12 year old LG Refrigerator 26930 double door, if you are handy its not that hard. It was a relatively easy fix - if you know how to take the dryer apart. If you don't, there are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how. Make sure you find your model. Since the wheel had separated from the nut, it wasn't quite as easy and holding the shaft and loosening the wheel. I had to remove (destroy) the wheel first. I replaced the dryer motor. I followed the repair video on the Appliance Parts Pro site, with a few modifications to the procedure. I loosened the control panel and flipped it forward to improve access to the wiring connectors. I also loosened the front panel and tipped it forward before disconnecting the door switch as there wasn't enough space to disconnect the switch otherwise. The noise seemed to be caused by a vibration. The condenser fan motor seemed to have a vibration. I didn't need the fan blade as it came off in good condition. Read more

I used a set of ring pliers to remove the old retaining ring, then spread the plastic ribs around the fan motor shaft with a small flat bladed screwdriver to ease removal of the old fan blade. I reversed the process to replace the blade, gently tapping a socket from my socket wrench set placed over the motor shaft and ribs with a small rubber mallet. Everything was straight forward and easy to repair, I had an appliance tech come out and troubleshoot the repair and watched what he did and asked questions. I then ordered the parts from here and did the repairs myself and saved on having the tech make another trip out. Read more

Replaced the top bearing assembly, drive belt, and blower wheel. The most time consuming and difficult part was putting the new drive belt back on the pulley and tensioner. Be sure to know how it is routed through them. It is a very tight fit getting your arm in there and connecting it blindly. Read more

Evaporator fan was loud and eventually quit. This allowed the freezer temp to rise above 18 deg. which they activated the PF code. Replacing the evaporator fan motor fixed the problems. Read more

I removed oven panel and found the fan blades had warped and were hitting the base that fan was mounted to.I turned off the power via circuit breaker,removed fan mounting screws,removed two wires and installed new fan.Reset breaker,oven is nice and quiet now. Read more

At first, I thought that it was the defrost timer, but when I took apart the freezer, I found that the evaporator fan motor wasn't running, so I replaced it. Read more

I replaced the heating element and all of the thermal/high cutoff fuses and thermistors even though only the heating element tested "open" (there was a crack in the element) just to be safe. Also for the "jet airplane" sound the fan housing bearing was bad. I replaced that a well. Now it works like it should and is quiet again! Kenmore LG Refrigerator. Freezer froze up and frig quit working, Watch 3 different video on LG evap problems. Videos helped with disassembly. Once apart, fan would not come off old motor. Broke on removing. Had to order blade too. Advice, cut shaft off motor and lay fan flat and push shaft out.
