Kenmore Blower Wheel
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE16M15

The Blower Wheel is an OEM replacement part for GE dryers. It has a role in the air circulation within the dryer, aiding in the even and efficient drying of clothes. The blower wheel, connected to the motor, helps in expelling the moist air out of the dryer through the exhaust vent during the drying cycle.

Causes of a malfunctioning blower wheel are typically wear and tear from regular use, the accumulation of lint or debris, or damage to the wheel’s fins or central hub, which can impact its rotation and air circulation capability.

Symptoms of a bad Blower Wheel include:

  • Unusual noises during operation
  • Extended drying times
  • The dryer overheating
  • Reduced air circulation

This OEM GE part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken fan blade   Thomas H. • West Blocton , AL • April 21, 2014

I used a set of ring pliers to remove the old retaining ring, then spread the plastic ribs around the fan motor shaft with a small flat bladed screwdriver to ease removal of the old fan blade. I reversed the process to replace the blade, gently tapping a socket from my socket wrench set placed over the motor shaft and ribs with a small rubber mallet. I stopped when the shaft protruded about 1/8" beyond the plastic ribs of the new fan blade, then installed the new retaining clamp ring with the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Error code cf   Robert A. • San Jose , CA • June 27, 2016

I bought a new cooling motor and blade and installed it, everything seems to be working fine now, did not take that long to fix, maybe about 30 minutes, the longest part was trying to get the old fan off the old motor, finally had to cut it off with bolt cutters, I have a 12 year old LG Refrigerator 26930 double door, if you are handy its not that hard. I had to remove a couple parts in front of the motor to get to it, but very easy. Better than buying a new refrigerator...:). I replaced the... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The blower wheel in the dryer separated from the nut   Stefan K. • Youngsville , NC • February 25, 2016

It was a relatively easy fix - if you know how to take the dryer apart. If you don't, there are plenty of YouTube videos explaining how. Make sure you find your model. Since the wheel had separated from the nut, it wasn't quite as easy and holding the shaft and loosening the wheel. I had to remove (destroy) the wheel first. Then I was left with the nut on the shaft. The nut was seated on the shaft a lot tighter than I expected and took some force to get off. Once it was off, putting the new... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer would start then quit after about 5 seconds. No error codes-timer running nasal burnt smell.   Larry T. • Morristown , TN • December 10, 2017

I replaced the dryer motor. I followed the repair video on the Appliance Parts Pro site, with a few modifications to the procedure. I loosened the control panel and flipped it forward to improve access to the wiring connectors. I also loosened the front panel and tipped it forward before disconnecting the door switch as there wasn't enough space to disconnect the switch otherwise. Removal of the blower assembly required the use of penetrating lubricant as the assembly was stuck on the motor... Read more
