I ordered a new solenoid and when it arrived, I installed it as follows: I cut the power to the refrigerator. I then pulled off the rubber boot (and it's plastic frame) that covers the water switch. Then I removed the bezel that covers the front of the ice maker controls by pulling it straight out. Then I removed the four screws found on the assembly under the bezel. After pulling the assembly forward a bit, I detached the multi-wire connector attached to it and put the assembly aside.... Read more

Repairman said I'd need to replace the entire chute inside at a cost of nearly $400! Ordered the chute myself for a little over $100. Took me about a half an hour to carefully disassemble the water/ice dispenser and replace with the new one. The job wasn't hard, I'm just not a very "handy" guy but I love a good challenge and am very careful not to pull and pry on things which may break. It was literally only 4 screws that had to be removed and some wiring harnesses holding everything together.... Read more

The new Ui assembly that has all new push buttons. I found the water shutoff and the power plug when we pulled the fridge out. I shut off the water and pulled the AC plug. The whole assembly that is being replaced, came out easily when I pushed two small tabs on the lower part of the old asm bottom left and right. I used a small screwdriver to release one and then the other tab. I disconnected the electrical connector and the old unit was free. Connect the power plug to the new unit and slide... Read more

I replaced the ice door motor with new hardware, circuit board on touch panel display then the main ECB on top in the doghouse. It finally came to life and started working! No issues with the front panel and everything works as it did! Read more

Took door off, saw that dispenser linkage was ok, I could open and close by hand, so figured the wax motor or the wiring to it were most likely the problem. I took off the wax motor ( actuator) and ran 120 volts to it via jumper wires, and it did not move at all, so figured good chance that was the problem. • Will not dispense detergent

This happened after a repair man came out and replaced the timer. Not my doing landlord had a service contract. Once inspected I found when the timer was swapped he did not swap the cam over. Ordered the correct parts and repaired myself. Hard to find good help anymore. Read more
