Replace a worn cooktop blower motor if your downdraft ventilation is weak or noisy. This motor powers the ventilation fan to remove cooking fumes effectively.

This evaporator fan moves cold air across the evaporator and through the refrigerator cabinet to keep temperatures even and food properly chilled. Replacing a failing fan restores airflow and helps the cooling system work efficiently. What it does:

• Circulates cold air from the evaporator to maintain even temperatures in the fresh-food and freezer compartments
• Promotes proper defrosting by moving air over the evaporator coils
• Reduces frost buildup and helps the compressor run less frequently when working correctly
• Common symptoms of a bad fan: loud or unusual noise from the fridge, warm compartments, or uneven cooling

• One evaporator fan assembly

• Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any repair
• Remove interior panels or shelving as needed to access the evaporator fan; follow OEM instructions for disassembly
• Handle evaporator coil area and sheet metal with care—sharp edges can cause injury
• After installation, restore power and check for improved cooling and absence of abnormal noise
