Fridge keept building up ice in defrost drain drain in freezer. Once the drain pan filled with ice it drips into fridge compartment. After taking things apart three times to thaw it out, decided to replace defrost components - heater and temperature switch. In addition to new parts, also added a 12 gauge copper wire hook that hangs from defrost heater into the defrost drain. After this, the defrost cycle is running as expected, but will not know if the issue is corrected until a year or so... Read more

I ordered the gasket with the model number off the frig. AppliancePartPros.com made it easy to find my part. There was also a "how to" video on the same page. I ordered the part and it got to OH the next day. Following the video guideline it took me 15 minutes to remove the door, strip out the old seal and put in the new one. Followed directions on video, worked as advertised. The only trouble I had (if you can call it that) was with removing the door. I have a freezer on top not side by side. Its easier to take the door off a side by side. When doing one like mine it can be done with one person but it's nice to have an extra set of hands to hold the door in place when removing the bracket which is on the bottom, You can take the freezer door off if you want and work your way down to the fridge door but I didn't... Checked and found the evaporator frozen causing the fan to stop working. Took the interior panels off and applied a blow dryer to the ice, once the ice melted I cut the tabs on the grommet holding the fan since everything is thin plastic and replaced the grommet and fan. Placed everything back and found no further issues.
