My 15 year old son and I examined the new parts and made a plan for how we were going to take the front off of the oven. Turns out it was fairly simple. We removed the knobs, the knob shrouds, two philip screws on the side of the head and about 6, 6mm hex sheet screws. Voila! It came apart. The control board can short out due to power surge or exposure to excessive heat. For example, if the oven's self clean function is run too long or too frequently, parts of the control board could melt or otherwise malfunction.Before installing this part, be sure to cut power to the appliance and allow it to cool completely. The stove may need to be pulled away from the wall to access the screws holding the control panel in place. Remove the screws from each side of the control panel to gain access to the old control board. Luckily, replacing a control board is a simple process.To replace the board, first, make sure the oven is unplugged. Gain access to the back of the oven and remove the upper back panel. Once the panel is removed, locate the old control board. Take note of the orientation of the wires by taking a photo with a phone camera. Disconnect the wire harness and any individual wires that are attached to the old board. Re-secure the wires into their correct positions.
