You will need a special "star" socket driver for this process. You can find it at any auto parts retailer, I got mine at the AutoZone.
First unscrew the 2 "star" screws and unplug the igniter lead from the old burner then plug the igniter lead into the new burner igniter and re-screw the new burner back on the range. It was a very easy swap out process.
In the process, I broke one of the screw... this is the hard part of all trying to remove the broken screw. Remember to soak the screws...

My old taupe burner grates/caps & drip trays showed heavy staining Craig M. • Seekonk , MA • December 29, 2017
I bought new parts, but in black, so that any future staining over time would not be as noticeable. I was able to find everything I needed through AppliancePartsPros.com, and even though I only paid for economy delivery (3-6 working days), I was amazed that they turned up within 24 hours of my order being submitted! Replacing the parts was a 3 minute job, & my 14 year-old Kenmore cooker looks brand new.

Ordered a replacement holder with a new ceramic igniter and installed it. The new unit would not quite fit correctly on the Metal stand. It took only a couple of minutes with a large file to remove some of the metal on each side of the metal prongs that locate the holder onto the stand.
