Oven not reaching temperature or taking too long to preheat? A failed bake element is often the cause. Moderate DIY repair, 1-2 hours with rear access.
I determined the hidden bake element below the oven cavity was not working, because the bottom of the oven was cold during normal use. If you have a built-in microwave + oven combination (mine is KitchenAid Model No. KEMS308SSS05), this is a difficult repair. The engineer who designed this oven should be invited to succeed elsewhere. It is impossible to access the bake element from the inside of the oven, so the How To video associated with this part will not help you. I had to remove the... Read more
Oven not heating or heating slowly? The bake element at the bottom of your oven cavity supplies heat for baking. Simple 2-screw, 2-wire repair.
I'm a 66 year old woman (on a fixed income) and I'd never before repaired an oven bake element . My stove is 20 years old but I still found it was much more affordable to change the bake element rather than buying a new stove. I called the number on the website and talked to a very informative woman. She answered all the questions I had about my stove. She told me about the repair video on the website which had step-by-step instructions. I ordered a new element - received it within 4 days.... Read more
Oven not heating or broiling? A failed broil element often shows blistering or breaks. DIY repair in under 30 minutes with a screwdriver.
Found a real cool Youtube video by AppliancePartsPro.com. I watched it and learned how easy it was to unhook and replace the part with proper care and precautions. It even included tips on critical steps so the wires won't slip back inside the hole and save you from hours of possible mistake. Then I ordered the part. It came the day after, then I replaced the part, meaning, I DID THE WORK! (My wife was so impressed- lol) Easy as pie... but we made and had a much nicer roast the day after.... Read more

Stove is a GE Adora Model JBP63HH2bb. It took me forever to figure out how the burner was attached to the rails. My glass top was different than any instructions found on the internet for changing out a burner. The burners on this one are held to the bottom of the glass cook top by two rails that cross the bottom of the burner assemblies. In order to get too the burners you must remove 4 Phillips screws to lower the rails and burners from the cooktop. I suggest two people do this because... Read more

My oven element "melted away" on a Saturday evening. I couldn't find any parts locally on Sunday so that left me until Monday with no oven. On Monday, I had the option of buying one locally for $70+ dollars or go online. I've dealt with AppliancePartsPros before and they've always delivered so I took the chance and put an order in. I had the part Tuesday afternoon without driving anywhere and for only $54... in less than 30 hours after I ordered it! WOW! It took almost no time to install... Read more
The Bake Element is an OEM part for GE wall ovens and ranges. It generates the necessary heat through a series of exposed coils to bake and brown food consistently. Symptoms of a failed bake element include:
Causes may be normal wear of the coil material over many use cycles in high heat. Without a functioning bake element, the oven cannot reliably or safely perform its baking function. This OEM GE part can also be used on Hotpoint, RCA, and Kenmore/Sears appliances.
Replaced element. The new element was perfect. The shipping was perfect. Installation would have taken less than 10 minutes if the two range wires attaching to element had been 1 inch longer. Attached thin nosed vice grips to wires at spade terminals to facilitate attachment to element. The repair was simple enough but it would have been perfect if GE engineers had made wires 1 inch longer. Read more

First I removed the (3) wire shelves. Removed the bottom cover by removing the (2) screws in the back. This exposed the oven element. Removed the (2) screws holding the mounting bracket on the front of the element then removed the (2) screws on the silver bracket that holds the back of the element.
