Started off by replacing the water lines and valve, purchased from the same site. Thought I'd cured the problem, but no. Next step was to replace the icemaker, which is incredibly simple. Undo 2 screws, pop out the clips give the wiring harness a good tug and the whole lot comes out. Reverse the process to install the new one. Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. Ordered new enclosure. Place ice maker into 'off' position. Remove ice tray assembly by pulling forward. Unscrew left hand side screw under old enclosure. Pulled broken part forward and up slightly. Unhooked wire harness from back of freezer. You can reach from underneath pulled out part. Or from top if you tilt rear of part down. Pull assembly out.
