Ordered both the sets of water valve because both had failed. The ice maker valve failed intially which I ingnored for probably 8months. Then the main failed so no water was getting to the water dispensor. Replacing both sets of solinod valves take about 20minutes Read more

After reading some other reviews that were having a similar problem I ordered a water valve that is located in the lower rear of the refer. The change out took less that ten minutes and was similar to the video. The ice maker now is making ice and seems to be working properly. The repair was made easy with the help of Appliancepartspros. I ordered a new solenoid and when it arrived, I installed it as follows: I cut the power to the refrigerator. I then pulled off the rubber boot (and it's plastic frame) that covers the water switch. Then I removed the bezel that covers the front of the ice maker controls by pulling it straight out. Then I removed the four screws found on the assembly under the bezel. After pulling the assembly forward a bit, I detached the multi-wire connector attached to it and put the assembly aside.... Read more

Replaced water valve to fix water not going to door, easy enough to do. Replaced icemaker which was corroded inside the cube-forming trays causing black flakes to come off stuck to the ice cubes, and was also leaking causing the water to drip into the ice bucket making one giant ice cube. First, I had to remove the cover plate on the back of the refrigerator. Then I unscrewed the water inlet valve from the rest of the assembly. I then unplugged the electrical contacts by pulling them apart. There are two fittings on the valve. One has a nut on it. That one just needs the nut unscrewed, after which the pex tubing can be pulled out. The other one has a pex connection. Needed to replace the water valve. Ordered the part Sunday afternoon and it arrived Tuesday morning. Installation was simple especially after watching the online repair video. Removed cover from icemaker, unplugged refrigerator and tested with meter. Coil of water inlet valve tested open. Ordered part and replaced. Works like a charm. Read more

Replaced it. Water lines are quick connect type. Putting the part back in the holding bracket was a bit challenging. Not much space to work with. Read more
