Replaced both primary and secondary water valves to make sure I fixed the problem. Both valves have to open when you function the water dispenser and when the ice maker tray needs refilling. YouTube video was a great help and let me know that I had to lengthen one hose. The video showed me the exact parts I needed to lengthen the hose. Ordered both the sets of water valve because both had failed. The ice maker valve failed intially which I ingnored for probably 8months. Then the main failed so no water was getting to the water dispensor. Replacing both sets of solinod valves take about 20minutes Read more

After replacing the full icemaker assembly with a new one and it still had the problem, I replaced the valve and it worked like a charm. No more leaks. It was relatively easy to replace the valve once you go the rear panel of the fridge removed. Read more

We have a built-in KitchenAid KSSC42QKS02. Unlike the other Kitchenaid or Whirlpool refrigerators, our valve is located at the bottom and towards the front of the refrigerator. I actually preferred it to be located at the back like the others. It would've been easier to get to. We had to lower the fridge turning the screws(front of the lower panel), so it would sit on the rollers. After some research on the internet,I found out that the most likely cause was a failed water inlet valve. The refrigerator is quite old so I wasn't going to spend an arm and leg on it to fix it.
