There was a horrible screeching noise coming from the washer, and upon inspection I found that the retaining nut that attaches the cam to the machine was either improperly tightened to begin with or had worked itself loose causing the cam to wobble and the belt to work down the cam. Replace burner and receptacle. The product arrived promptly after order and the receptacle came in a factory Whirlpool bag, indicating it was a genuine Whirlpool part. • Fridge too warm

Defrost circuit was broken, defrost thermostat failed and allowed the frost to build up and clog the ports . Replaced defrost thermostat and fixed the circuit.....the heating element worked again as the defrost thermostat was broken in the open position, not allowing the heating element to operate. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

Our 7 y/o dishwasher wouldn't close and therefore we couldn't get it to run. I called several service places who charged $75-$90 diagnostic plus parts & labor, and they were not able to get here for at least a week. I knew it was going to run at least $200. • Leaking

I have a Whirlpool Side-by-side Model ED22PWXBW01. A year ago, the ice cubes started freezing together in the rear of the ice bin for no apparent reason. Replaced clutch assembly, gearcase input shaft seal and motor coupler. When I disassembled the washer I realized the shaft seal on the top of the gearcase was leaking and not the input shaft seal. So had to order more parts before I could finish this job. Altogether I replaced agitator dogs, both seals on the gearcase, the clutch assembly and the motor coupler.
