The Switch Speed Control is an OEM component specifically designed for select Bosch downdraft ventilation hoods requiring variable ventilation levels. As an adjustable regulator, it modulates blower velocities responding to modes selected by end users.
Causes requiring replacement involve cumulative use wearing down switching components through continuous cycles. Physical impacts risk separating connections or shorting protected circuitry.
Symptoms signaling the need for a new speed control switch include:
- Inability to adjust air exchange rates matching different cooking methods
- Erratic transitions between programmed velocities disrupting performance
- Failure to consistently apply expected power levels to blowers
This OEM Bosch replacement component is also compatible with Thermador, Gaggenau, and some Kenmore ventilation hoods employing adjustable exhaust capacities. Correct installation restores intended variable operational control.

Fan worked but only at full speed. Bernard A. • Carmichael , CA • December 05, 2020
Turned off power. Removed cover over back of fan control switch. Unscrewed nut holding old switch in place. Removed clear plastic wire coverings. Hardest part of job. Photographed wires. Removed wires of old switch and replaced with wires from new switch. Had an extra green wire since old switch did not have a ground. Secured switch in panel with nut that came with it. Replaced cover on back of control switch. Turned on power and it now reduces the speed of the fan.
