I attempted to diagnose the four thermostats/thermal switches in the microwave....two right behind the control panel, one on top of the cooking cabin, and one under a metal shroud above the magnetron. While checking continuity with a voltmeter, i questioned one of them behind the control panel and the one above the magnetron. Replaced thermostat. Biggest challenge was how to feed the thermostat from the back of the stove into the oven. I found the easiest way is to tie a string onto the existing thermostat in the oven before it is removed. When the existing thermostat is pulled out the back un-tie the string and tie it on the new thermostat then pull the string from in the oven to draw the new thermostat through the hole. Read more

We were originally unsure whether our client's issue was related to the thermostat itself or just the light indicator. We at first were only going to order the light indicator, but ordered both parts to be safe, and are so glad we did because it turned out to be the thermostat as well. I searched online for F9 error fixes and people said to replace the thermostat. I replaced thermostat and it fixed the problem! Hardest thing was pulling oven out of cabinet!! Read more

Replaced the broken element with a new. They're held in by screws. I did take the back of the range off to disconnect the wires. Putting the back on the range was the hardest part of this project. Read more

Following the instructions that I received through the helpful research of the APP staff, I disconnected the power, disassembled the back of the oven, and accessed the hidden element. This involved bending parts of the sheet metal and cutting the insulation, so I was very apprehensive about doing this.
